Clear Skies Ahead for Lucas Oil ASCS at Salina and Wheatland

TULSA, Okla. (June 17, 2015) Tropical Storm Bill looks to be on its way out as the weekend forecast for the Salina Speedway in Salina, Kan. and Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. show clear skies for the Lucas Oil American Sprint Car Series presented by MAVTV American Real and the conclusion of Speedweek 2015.

The series’ fourth event at the Salina Speedway, Jeff Swindell claimed victory in the 2014 showing, marking the second time a Swindell has visited Victory Lane at the Kansas oval as nephew, Kevin Swindell, picked up his first Lucas Oil ASCS score in 2012. Separating the two is a win by Seth Bergman in 2013.

Racing at the Salina Speedway on Friday, June 19 kicks off with Hot Laps at 7:15 P.M. (CT). Joining the evening’s card will be Late Models, Mod Lites, and Sport Compacts. More information on the Salina Speedway can be found at http://www.racesalinaspeedway.com or by calling (785) 292-9220.

In 15 previous starts at the Lucas Oil Speedway, 11 drivers have claimed victory with Tim Crawley and Jason Johnson standing as the only repeat winners with three each. It was Christopher Bell who climbed the tubes of the Berryman Motorsports No. 31b in the 2014 Speedweek visit.

The “Diamond of Dirt Tracks” will come to life on Saturday, June 20 at 7:30 P.M. (CT) and will include the Impact Signs W.A.R. Sprint Series. For more information on the Lucas Oil Speedway, and to purchase tickets, log onto http://www.lucasoilspeedway.com.

The first time the Kansas oval has graced the Speedweek lineup, the addition of the Salina Speedway to the 2015 Sizzlin’ Summer Speedweek came as flood level rains forced the promoter to postpone his original May date. With the track being a Friday night facility, and perfectly placed, the decision to join the party was a quick one.
