BECHTELSVILLE, PA November 25, 2017 . . . The man who, along with his father Forrest, built Grandview Speedway will be remembered with the 1st Annual Bruce Rogers Memorial on Saturday, April 7th with a 75 lap race featuring both Big and Small Block Modifieds. The race will pay $7,500 to win.
For 55 years Rogers with support from his wife Theresa and in recent year’s family members operated the one-third-mile, banked clay speedway turning it into one of the most successful short track operations in the nation.
The rules for the race will be similar to the October Thunder on the Hill race. There will be no NASCAR sanction involved with the season opener and no license will be required.
It is expected that the Memorial will attract a stellar field of racing talent as the greatly respected Rogers is remembered.
Additional details on the April 7th Rogers Memorial will be announced in the near future along with the purse breakdown and rain date.
