BRC13 TV-13 Sports cameras set to roll at Mahoning Valley Speedway
(LEHIGHTON, Pa. 5-21-15) Blue Ridge Communications of Lehighton and Mahoning Valley Speedway are proud to announce a joint venture for the first of several feature broadcasts taking place at the popular paved quarter mile oval.
On Saturday night, June 6, BRC13 via the station’s TV-13 Sports will have a full complement of cameras set up at the track for a tape-delayed broadcast the following week. TV-13 Sports award winning anchor/reporter Brian Unangst will be joined by “The Voice” Dino Oberto for the telecast.
“It’s been nearly 20 years since BRC13 has televised racing from Mahoning Valley Speedway and we are excited to return,” said Unangst.
“Mahoning Valley always provides great racing action and we are looking to bring that excitement to our viewers. We look forward to this new partnership with the track and we’re thankful to promoter Floyd Santee for the chance to showcase the drivers and racing.”
TV-13 Sports covers all of the region’s local sports including baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, soccer, field hockey, track and field, swimming, golf and all of the area auto racing action.
“This is an exciting time for us at Mahoning Valley to have BRC13 come in and do these broadcasts. We have a solid fan and driver base and this is a golden opportunity to enhance the exposure of the track,” said Oberto, who serves as the Mahoning track announcer along with his son, Mario Oberto.
The night’s race line-up includes a full slate of all six track classes which include Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks. Plus the Xcel 600 Modifieds are on the docket.
