BOSS returns to close out Fremont Speedways season

FREMONT, Ohio – The Mo Vaughn Transportation Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series (BOSS) will return to Fremont Speedway Saturday, Oct. 3 to close out the track’s 2015 season. Besides the traditional, non-wing sprints, the winged 305 sprints, 602 late models and dirt trucks will be in action and there will be a special ladies powder puff truck race and a special mechanics race for the late models, who will be racing “topless” on Saturday.

This fall event has been lost to Mother Nature the last two seasons, but hopefully the old saying, “the third time’s the charm” holds true.  Fremont has been the scene of some of the biggest and best events of the BOSS tour and this Saturday should offer much the same as it is Flag City Recycling “Family Fun Night” at the track.
With only two events remaining in the 2015 season, Shawn Westerfeld holds a commanding lead in the BOSS standings.  If he can make Saturday night’s main event and finish in the top 10, he will secure the championship with an event still to run.  Past tour champions Mike “The Magic Man” Miller and the “Hustlin Hoosier” Dustin Smith are both determined to take one last shot at Westerfeld. Cooper Clouse sits in the number four spot with Aaron Middaugh and Michael Fischesser locked in a battle over the fifth position.

The last time the BOSS drivers visited Fremont was in August and Thomas “T-Mez” Meseraull picked up the win, becoming the first three time feature winner in a single season for the series. Other BOSS winners in 2015 are:

Brandon Matus – Mercer

Thomas Meseraull T-Mez – Limaland, Lawrenceburg, Fremont

Kody Swanton – Pittsburgh Pennsylvania Motor Speedway

Dallas Hewitt – Waynesfield Raceway Park

Landon Simon – Legendary Hilltop Speedway

Dustin Smith – Tyler County Speedway

Todd Kane – Atomic Speedway

Shawn Westerfeld – Lawrenceburg Speedway

Cooper Clouse – Millstream Speedway

Shane Cottle – Montpelier Motor Speedway

Fremont Speedway Promoter Rich Farmer is reminding the ladies planning to compete in the dirt truck powder puff race, they are responsible for securing their own rides and it is only open to those who have not competed in any form of racing. The same holds true in the mechanics race for the late models – the mechanics are responsible for securing their own rides and they can not have competed in any form of racing.
Gates will open Saturday at 4 p.m. with drivers meeting scheduled for 5:30. Racing action will begin promptly at 7 p.m.  Adult general admission will be $14 with seniors admitted for $12.  Students will be $8 with kids 10 and under admitted free.  For race teams, there are no fees to run with BOSS.  Mufflers are required for this event and transponder rental will be $5.
