LAP LEADER BONUSES OF MORE THAN $1,000 COLLECTED FOR NEW EGYPT SPEEDWAY’S MARCH MADNESS MELTDOWN

J1024x683-19362NEW EGYPT, NJ -March 12, 2016 — As New Egypt Speedway’s March Madness Meltdown quickly approaches over $1,000 in lap leader bonuses have been collected, on top of an already lucrative $25,000 plus purse.  The Modified and Sportsman double-header marks the Ocean County speedway’s nineteenth season opener, slated for Saturday, March 19.

The lap leader in all 50 laps of the Modified feature event will collect a minimum of $15 per lap, while drivers leading laps in the 30 lap Sportsman feature event will collect at least $10 per lap – adding a total of $1,055 in bonus money, paid directly to the competitors.

Perennial lap sponsors, as well as, many local businesses have jumped on board to support New Egypt’s March Madness Meltdown including: John Blewett Inc., Rico’s Auto Body, Champion Tire, Brice’s Auto Supply, Physical Therapy Associate of Mercer County, The Snack Shack, Earl’s Clutter Room Collectable, NES Fall Swap Meet, and Ace in the Hole. New lap sponsors for this event include Belasco Oil, Speedway’s All Star Bagel, Nova Tile and Stone, Red Star Pizza, Anthony’s Italian Restaurant & Pizza, Ray Rosenberg, and Big Jim’s Video.

Headlined by the mighty Modifieds – with variety of rule options allowing for nearly every competitor to participate — in a 50-lap main event, March Madness Meltdown includes a lucrative payout that boasts more than $5,000 to the winner, $1,000 for fifth, and $400 to start.  The region’s top competitors like: Duane Howard, Jeff Strunk, Rick Laubach and Ryan Watt take on the masters of New Egypt Speedway – Billy Pauch, Ryan Godown, Neal Williams, Mike Butler, Danny Bouc and Billy Pauch Jr.

Pit gates for the event will open at 12 pm for early technical inspection, front gates will open at 3:30pm, hot laps will begin at 4 pm, and racing will start at 5 pm.

Pit admission is $35 with any track or series license and $40 without. Anyone purchasing a pit admission and would like to use a New Egypt Speedway license must purchase their license first. No refunds will be given if you purchase your pit band before purchasing you license. Licenses can be purchased in the front office starting at 11 am. Adult admission is $25, seniors 65 and older are $23, teens 12-15 and military and their spouses with ID are $15, and children 11 and under are free.
