ELBRIDGE, NY – This is one event Modified fans and competitors will not want to miss.

On Saturday during the Eastern Motorsport Press Association (EMPA) Convention at the Crowne Plaza in King of Prussia, Pa., a blockbuster dirt Modified program was announced for Rolling Wheels Raceway Park in Elbridge, N.Y., Wednesday, July 13, 2016.

Promotional icon Glenn Donnelly, Rolling Wheels manager, welcomes the Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP and Race of Champions (RoC) Dirt Modified Tour in an unprecedented program at the five-eighths-mile oval.

Not only will the event mark the inaugural appearance by the STSS at Rolling Wheels; it is also the first co-sanctioned event in history for the Brett Deyo-managed STSS and RoC, now under the leadership of Joe Skotnicki.

Modifieds, big-blocks and small-blocks, will be featured in a 50-lap main event paying a minimum of $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th-place and $400 to take the green flag. Each series will work to secure lap money, bonuses and contingency/product awards.

Both American Racer and Hoosier tires will be permitted at this event. Fuel will be either VP Racing Fuel or Sunoco. Modifieds will utilize traditional windows. Small-block engines (up to 363 cubic inches) weigh 2,400 lbs. Big-block engines weigh 2,500 lbs.

Qualifying will take place with a draw/redraw format.

Both the STSS and RoC will reward all competitors attending this event with 60 points. Two provisional starting positions for each series will be awarded.

“Glenn Donnelly has always been able to create and provide innovative promotions,” Skotnicki said. “This event is not only a great concept, but shows that we all need to be willing to work with each other to move the sport forward, in a positive direction. It will definitely be one of the summer’s must-attend events.”

“This event no doubt will be something special,” Deyo said. “Not only is it an honor to be invited to Rolling Wheels, a premier New York facility, by Glenn Donnelly, it is a true showing of cooperation by working hand-in-hand with the RoC series. The field of Modifieds for this show should be second-to-none.”

Rolling Wheels Raceway Park, operated by Central New York Motorsports Inc., was constructed by the late Bob Petrocci and held its first event on August 17, 1969. Running a specials-only format since 1982, Rolling Wheels has become one of the most respected facilities in the Northeast. The speedway is located on New York State Route 5, five minutes east of Auburn, N.Y., and 10 minutes from Exit 40 of the New York State Thruway.
