WINDOM, Minn. – Danny Lasoski certainly loves to start his season in Florida each year.

“Not only is the weather amazing, but we usually run pretty well down there,” he said. “I can’t wait to get this season going this week in Florida.”

Lasoski and Big Game Motorsports will invade Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville on Wednesday and Thursday with the Arctic Cat Circuit of Champions before racing with the World of Outlaws Craftsman Sprint Car Series on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the half-mile oval as part of the 45th annual DIRTcar Nationals.

“I can remember being there in the 1990s,” Lasoski said. “I really, really liked the place. It’s big and fast. Usually they get a top and bottom so if you have your car working nice you can maneuver around.”

Lasoski is the winningest driver at Volusia Speedway Park, which is known as the world’s fastest half-mile track.

“I know Tod Quiring and Guy Forbrook are going to give me a great car,” he said. “We have a fantastic engine builder, which really helps because the air is really good there. The Big Game guys have worked their tails off to trim the car down. It’ll carry over to our speed. I’m really looking forward to getting back behind the wheel.”

Lasoski placed second during two of the five rounds at last year’s DIRTcar Nationals.
