Four Division Show Wraps Up April At Big Diamond Speedway

Big%20Diamond%20%204-15-2014%20Money%20in%20the%20mountains%20197%20(1024x683)MINERSVILLE  PA.- April 26, 2016- – After beating the rain last week, Big Diamond Speedway is looking at a good forecast for Friday, April 29, as the track wraps ups the first full month of racing with a four-division show of CJ’s Tire & Automotive Services 358 modifieds, U.S.S. Achey sportsman, Savage 61 roadrunners and the No Sweat Service Group street stocks.

The originally planned roadrunner challenge for Friday has been postponed. A date for the event will be announced in the future.

Three different drivers have gone to victory lane in the 358 modifieds to start the season. Doug Manmiller won the opening on April 1 while Rick Laubach won the Money In The Mountain 40-lap feature on April 15 and Brett Kressley scored the win last Friday, April 22.

Ryan Godown leads Billy Pauch, Jr., in the 358 point standings by 58 points. Jeff Strunk, Ryan Grim and Ray Swineheart round out the top five.

Big%20Diamond%20money%20in%20the%20mountains%20359%20(1024x581)Brandon Grosso has dominated the sportsman division to date winning three of the four events held. Last week he won the nightcap in the twin 20-lap features while former track champion Doug Hendricks won the first one.

Grosso leads Tim Fitzpatrick by 137 points with Ray Woodall, Jr., Wayne Witmer and Chuck Fayash rounding out the top five.

Andy Fayash III lead Tim Fitzpatrick, Jr., by three points in the roadrunner division while in the street stock division, Eric Tripp leads Rich Bossinger by nine points.

The track gates will open at 5:30 p.m. on Friday with warm-ups at 7:45 and racing getting underway 8:15. General admission is $15, seniors, $13 and kids 12-and-under and active Military with a valid I.D. are free.

Looking ahead to May, the Short Track Super Series visits the track on Tuesday, May 10 while the American Racing Drivers Club midgets visits the track on Friday, May 13.
