Brady Bacon and Richard Marshall have partnered in Bacon-Marshall Racing, with Bacon expanding his winged sprint car schedule next year!

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. —December 7, 2016- Reigning USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car Series champion Brady Bacon will embark on a new venture in 2017, as he partners with Richard Marshall of Priority Aviation to form Bacon/Marshall Motorsports.
The team will run a large winged sprint car schedule next season, with the two-time USAC National Sprint Car champion also driving the Frank Manafort Racing No. 76M midget and the Paul Martens-owned No. 48 USAC Silver Crown car when he is not running his winged sprint car next season.
Brady is hoping to expand on the success he had with his own winged car last season.
“Richard Marshall of Priority Aviation is becoming a part of the team and we’ll create Bacon/Marshall Motorsports,” Bacon said. “We’re going to run about fifty wing races. We’ll run with the World of Outlaws as much as we can, but we’ll be picking and choosing where we race.”
“We’re going to try and run all the major 410 events. We’ll be at the Knoxville Nationals, the King’s Royal and the Williams Grove National Open. We’ll try to hit all the big races.”
Bacon scored five top 10s with the World of Outlaws last year, including a second place finish at Tri-State Speedway near Haubstadt, Indiana. He also finished second in the Badlands Motor Speedway Gold Cup event, and won with the Neal Tire MOWA Sprint Car Series at Tri-City Speedway in Granite City, Illinois.
“I felt this past year, running 30-35 races … we had the equipment that was fast enough to compete,” Bacon said. “We just didn’t race enough to capitalize on that and stay sharp. I felt it was time to take the next step. I felt we were competitive.
“We just need to race a little more and fortunately, Richard decided to get involved with that. I think with our combined resources, we can put together one of the best teams in the country in the near future.”
Bacon’s team marks the second race team that Marshall is a partner in. The Priority Avaiation head man is also a partner with Tim Clauson, father of the late Bryan Clauson, in Clauson-Marshall Racing.
“Bryan Clauson introduced us to Brady and Xia Xianna a few years ago,” Marshall said. “Jennifer and I always considered a friend of Bryan’s to be a friend of ours. We enjoyed getting to know Brady as a racer and a family man and quickly became fans. Since travelling the WoO circuit as a teenager with my Uncle’s team and my Cousin Bobby Marshall driving, I acquired a keen appreciation for how challenging it is to “boot-strap” a team and be competitive against the best in the business. As we all know, that is hugely magnified with today’s technology and race budgets. With that, Jennifer and I are proud to partner with Brady, and see another driver-owner get a chance to continue pursuing his dream.”
