As Winter Sets In New Egypt Speedway Announces 2016 Racing Schedule
Return of World of Outlaws, USAC, and All Star Cup Highlight Exciting Year Ahead

New Egypt, NJ– As the long winter months are upon us, New Egypt Speedway has announced their 2016 season schedule that kicks off with the highly anticipated March Madness Meltdown on Saturday, March 19th featuring an open Modified $5,000 to win 50 lap event with a $1,000 to win 25 lap open Sportsman feature.

The most exciting addition to the 2016 is an update to the USAC Eastern Storm event. This year’s event on Thursday, June 9th will feature the USAC Wingless Sprints along with the NEWS Sprints and a Modified invitational that will require the Modifieds to race without sail panels. The Modified event will feature 15 cars competing in timed hot laps and a 20 lap feature paying $2,000 to win and $200 to start. The 15 invited drivers will be the top 15 finishers from the March Madness Meltdown event. If any driver declines their invitation, the 16th place finisher on down will receive an invite. This will be the first time since 2008 that the Modified division at New Egypt Speedway will compete without sail panels in an event billed as “Topless Thursday” as all cars will be competing without wings.

Also returning to New Egypt for the fourth consecutive year will be the World of Outlaw Sprints on Tuesday, May 24th. The WOO Sprints always put on one entertaining event with the 410 sprint track record being broken last year by the “Brownsburg Bullet” Joey Saldana with a time of 13.317 seconds. For the past three years Kasey Kahne driver Daryn Pittman has dominated the Outlaw event at New Egypt scoring all three victories. It will be interesting to see if anyone will be able to break his dominance in May. Tickets for the Outlaw event are on sale now and can be purchased online at dirtcar.ticketforce.com.

Other 2016 schedule highlights include the return on successful mid week shows including Brett Deyo’s Dirty Jersey 4 set for Tuesday, June 14th and the Lenny Sammons/Bob Miller Jersey Rush set for Tuesday, August 23rd. The 4th annual All Star Cup event that features high paying purses for the 358 Modifieds, Crate Modifieds, and NEWS Sprints will go back to the one day format on Saturday, September 17th with a rain date of Saturday, September 24th. The $10,000 Modified champion will be crowned on First Responder Night Saturday, September 3rd.

Speedway management has come up with some fun and different theme nights that will offer ticket discounts and giveaways for fans throughout the season. Some highlighted theme nights are Star Wars Night, Ugly Sweater Night, Super Hero Night, and the highly anticipated 90s Night.
