AMERICAN RACER CUP WEEKEND SET FOR FIVE MILE POINT SPEEDWAY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY

048Kirkwood, NY- October 4, 2016- Five Mile Point Speedway will be the site for the annual American Race Cup Weekend presented by Lias Tires and Sunoco Race Fuels this Friday and Saturday October 7th and 8th. The popular two day event will be the culmination of the American Racer Cup where drivers from fourteen different speedway competed over the summer months.

The premier modified division will be in competition on Friday night in the American Racer Cup 45. This event will pay an outstanding $5,000 to win, $1,000 for tenth and $400 to take the green.

Teams from CT, DE, NJ, NY, PA and MA have already made their plans for the biggest event of the season at the quarter mile oval. American Racer Cup Champions from all participating speedway are also scheduled to run a very lucrative “Dash for Cash” fifteen lap event paying $2000 to the winner.

206Andy Bachetti from Sheffield, Massachusetts, representing the I-88 Speedway in Afton, New York, used his ten-win season to come out on top of the very competitive modified standings. Bachetti is scheduled to be in competition and will be part of the American Racer Cup Dash.

Joining the modifieds on the Friday night card will be the Grit Series for the 602 sportsman. The crate sportsman will be running a twenty-five lap Grit Series race paying $1000 to win. The winner will be guaranteed to be in the re-draw on Nov. 5th “Great Crate Race” at Five Mile Point that will be paying $3000 to win. The Star Series Factory Stocks will be running a twenty lap race with the four cylinders racing in an eighteen lap Fall Open Qualifier.

Saturday night the sportsman will take center stage with the running of a combined Open/Crate thirty lap feature event paying $2000 to win. The highest finishing 602 crate sportsman driver will earn a spot in the Great Crate Race in November. Also on the schedule for the sportsman drivers is the American Racer Cup “Dash for Cash”. Champions from all participating tracks are eligible for the fifteen lap $1000 to win event. In the sportsman division Andrew Smith of Lockport, New York won ten races during the season to score 770 point to win the American Racer Cup sportsman title. Smith was representing the Skyline Raceway Park.

Also racing on Saturday will be the Star Series four cylinder twenty lap qualifier for the Four Cylinder Open in November. The IMCA modifieds will be running an Empire Series Tour event of twenty laps. Street stocks will be in competition running twenty laps for $450 to will. The Tobias Slingshots will return for a twenty lap feature.
