BECHTELSVILLE, PA AUGUST 10, 2019 Defending All Star Champion and current point leader Aaron Reutzel of Clute, TX will be in the field on Thursday night, August 22 when the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series returns to the Grandview Speedway. Reutzel holds the one lap track record at Grandview with a time of 11.243 established in August of 2018. That same night, Reutzel went on to the win the 35 lap 410 sprint All Star feature event at the one-third mile high-banked oval. Reutzel and many others will be looking for this win as they chase the prestigious Hodnett Cup, an actual trophy of Greg Hodnett that annually will honor one the all-time greats in sprint car racing. Hodnett, a nine time winner and six time Thunder Series Champion at Grandview Speedway lost his life in a racing mishap in September of 2018 in Central Pennsylvania. Joining the All Star Sprints will be the popular NASCAR 358 Modifieds in this always popular double-header. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM.

Tickets for Thursday, August 22 are $30 for adults, $10 for children age 6 to 11, and free for kids under 5 and under. Pit admission is $35 and a license is not required. Advanced ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, thirty minutes before general admission tickets go on sale. Advanced tickets are available by calling 443-513-4456. Please leave a message with your name, and the number of tickets you are requesting. You may pay for your tickets and pick them up on race night at the Will Call Window any time after 3:30 PM. Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, one half-hour prior to general admission tickets going on sale.

Joining Aaron Reutzel in the chase for the Hodnett Cup will be Dale Blaney of Hartford, OH, Cory Eliason of Visalia, CA, Paul MacMahan of Nashville, TN, Brock Zearfoss of Johnstown, PA and Greg Wilson of Benton Ridge, OH. Local favorites expected be in the hunt include Ryan Smith, Freddie Rahmer, Danny Dietrich, Mark Smith, Alan Krimes, TJ Stutts and as we know from past events, there are often some surprise visitors.

The NASCAR Modifieds continue to play a key role in the Thunder on the Hill events and Thursday night, August 22 will be no different. The winningest driver in Thunder on the Hill history is Jeff Strunk, a fourteen time Thunder Series winner will be in the field along with Craig VonDohren, Duane Howard, Ryan Watt, Rick Laubach, Brett Kressley, Doug Manmiller, Billy Pauch and many others. The modifieds will completed in a series of qualifying events all leading up to the 30 lap, $3,000 to win feature event.

This event will mark the 136th NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series event. For race fans making this their first visit to a Thunder on the Hill event, please take part in the FREE pre-race pit tours or watch warm-up from inside turn four with our Inside/Out program. Race fans are also invited to visit the pit area after the races to meet drivers, take photos and collect autographs. Gates open at 4:30 PM for advance ticket holders with general admission tickets going on sale at 5 PM. There are no reserved seats so race fans have a wide open selection of great seats in the entire grandstands.
