10416-10SWEDESBORO, NJ- November 6, 2016-  Lucas Wolfe made the most of a rare United Racing Club appearance on Saturday night of the 1st Annual Big Track Classic presented by Michalski Heating and Air Conditioning. With 25 cars in the pit area, Wolfe started 6th in heat race #3 and took home the win.

When Heat race #1 winner Curt Michael drew the “6” invert pill, the front row was set with 410 regular Davey Sammons and the Sean Michael who was making his return to sprint car racing after a lengthily layoff.

At the drop of the green flag, Sammons in the 747 and 4th place starter Lucas Wolfe battled wheel to wheel for the lead, with Sammons taking control in one corner and Wolfe coming back in the next to regain the lead. By lap 5 Wolfe was in command, with the 747 of Sammons on the rear bumper and rounding out the top 5 was the 67m of Michael, 63 of Josh Weller and the 28f of now 2016 URC Champion Davie Franek.

A long stretch of green flag laps were interrupted on lap 17 when the 747 of Sammons came to a stop with apparent motor issues. Sammons was pushed to the pits with the top 5 now consisting of Wolfe, Weller, Franek, Curt Michael and the 67m of Sean Michael. On the restart Wolfe chose the inside line with Weller to the outside. The two ran wheel to wheel for 3 laps before Wolfe finally overtook the lead and while entering turn 3 the 63 of Weller went up in smoke ending his night and the 2016 racing season.

135With 5 laps to go, Lucas Wolfe lead the 28f of Franek, followed by the 5g of Curt Michael and the 67m of Sean Michael. At the drop of the green Wolfe jumped to the lead once again with Franek close in tow, meanwhile the Michael brothers were left to battle for 3rd and 4th with Sean overtaking Curt for the 3rd position.

With three laps to go Curt regained the 3rd position and was running down Franek with two to go. As Wolfe crossed under the checkered flags and securing his first URC win of the season, Curt Michael used the high side off of turn 4 to overtake Franek at the line for the runner up position and the first Annual Midge Miller Memorial Trophy.
