Bubba Army Winter Nationals Dates Set

bret-14Ocala Fla.- December 4, 2016- Bubba Raceway Park and NeSmith Racing officials have released the 2017 Bubba Army Winter Nationals event schedule. The event will take place Jan. 25-28 at the egg-shaped oval in Ocala, Fla. The weekend will see three events that will count for Winter Shootout Points for the NeSmith Dirt Late Model Series drivers.

Bubba Raceway Park will host $2,000-to-win, 40-lap events on Jan. 26th and Jan. 27, and the weekend will be highlighted Jan. 28 with the one-day $10,000-to-win, 100-lap 12th Annual Chevrolet Performance World Championship.

Drivers will accumulate points on Thursday and Friday night, and then on Saturday the field for the 12th Annual World Championship will be set using standard NeSmith Racing format of qualifying, heats and b-mains to set 24 starters.

bret-9After the 24 car field is set, the top 12 drivers from Thursday and Friday points will be put into a Last Chance Qualifier which will take the top-two finishers and allow them to start 25th and 26th in the 100-lap main event.

“Bubba, Tom, and the entire Bubba Raceway Park staff have been great host of the Winter Nationals and Chevrolet Performance World Championship event, and we are glad to be heading back there for 2017. The addition of the World Championship and the additional two starting positions for that event show the support and appreciation they have for the racers who make the annual trip in January,” said NeSmith Racing CEO Mike Vaughn.
