Western HPDs at Bakersfield Saturday; Paterson Wins Madera 30-Lapper
Dylan Nobile holds serve in USAC’s Western HPD Midget series, which resumes this Saturday at the Bakersfield (Calif.) Speedway. Nobile has a 46-point lead over sisters Toni and Annie Breidinger.
None of the three point leaders have ever won at Bakersfield. Cory Elliott won three of the six races held the last two years at the 1/3-mile dirt track.
Cody Jessop, currently fourth in the standings, finished third in last year’s Bakersfield feature.
Tom Paterson of San Martin, Calif. topped the podium after his 30-lap USAC HPD Western Midget victory Saturday night at Madera (Calif.) Speedway. Paterson passed Toni Breidinger on lap four and led the rest of the way to beat Jessop, Nobile, Annie Breidinger and Toni Breidinger.
