WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – April 20, 2015 – Rocky Warner of Gloversville, N.Y., served notice over the weekend he will be a force to be reckoned with when the 2015 DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modified Series gets underway on Saturday at Fulton Speedway as part of the Super DIRTcar Series Highbank Holdup event.

Warner, the 2014 Fonda Speedway and Glen Ridge Motorsports Park Sportsman champion also known as The Flying Squirrel, landed in victory lane three nights running at Albany-Saratoga, Fonda and Utica-Rome Speedway in the lead-up to the first of 13 DIRTcar Northeast Sportsman Modified Series point races.

“The crate sportsman division has become a really challenging class,” Warner told Race Pro Weekly before Albany Saratoga’s 50th Anniversary season opener. He completed his weekend sweep after starting third on the grid at Utica-Rome Sunday night.

Warner will go up against the likes of 2014 Fulton Sportsman Champion Ronnie Davis III of Cato, N.Y., Mathieu Dejardins of Sorel, Quebec, and Shane Pecore of Cornwall, Ontario. Dejardins and Pecore are the 2014 series champion and runner-up on the Fulton 3/8-mile high banks.

After beginning the season at Fulton Speedway, the Sportsman Series will make its next stop at CanAm Speedway in LaFargeville, N.Y., on Wednesday, June 3. Both tracks are new additions to the Sportsman Series schedule.

The Highbank Holdup Weekend at Fulton Speedway kicks off on Friday, April 24, with Big-Block Modifieds, NAPA Late Models, Pro Race Cars Mod Lites, E&V Energy Novice Sportsman and a DIRTcar Sportsman Modified practice.
