BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 4, 2014 . . . Nine time NASCAR Whelen All American Series 358 Modified racer Jeff Strunk has nine championships at Grandview Speedway and Duane Howard has five. Each of these great Modified racing talents wants to add another title at the end of racing on Saturday night at Grandview Speedway.

The Green Lane Wm. Penn/Four Star Lettering tripleheader show set for Saturday at 7:30 p.m. will feature the NASCAR 358 Modifieds, BRC Late Models and Sportsman stock cars and the championship will be decided in each division.

Much of the fan interest will be centered on the Strunk and Howard battle as the two stars battle for the well over $10,000 in point fund money that goes to the champion driver and his car owner. Grandview continues to be one of the few tracks in the nation, in fact it may be the only one that offers two point funds with one coming from NASCAR and the other coming from the track operators, Bruce Rogers and his family.

Strunk holds a 167 point edge over Howard as they battle it out in the final point night of the season and in addition to battling for the championship both will use the night of Modified racing to get ready for the huge Freedom 76 Classic that pays $25,000 to win and is set for Saturday, September 13.

Modified talents such as Doug Manmiller, Craig VonDohren, Mike Gular, Frank Cozze and a host of others will be looking to do well in the Saturday night action and improve their position in the final point standings which will increase the amount of money they share in from the point funds.

Randy Stoudt, a past champion, leads the BRC Late Model standings as they enter the final point events. Stoudt, winner of six features this season, holds a 216 point edge over six time champion Chuck Schutz. In third is Sean Merkel who is 234 points behind. All three racers have the opportunity to win the BRC Late Model title.

And in the Sportsman division Jared Umbenhauer is shooting for his third straight title and has to just start the feature race to wrap up the that title. Umbenhauer also leads the NASCAR National Division II standings. Brett Kressley, winner of four features, is second in the standings 295 points behind Umbenhauer.

Penn/Four Star Lettering Night will open at 5:30 p.m. and at the same time the weekly Low Down and Dirty Meet&Greet will be taking place with featured drivers being Kevin and Brian Hirthler representing their sponsor Green Lane Wm. Penn/Four Star Lettering. Admission for this exciting night of racing is just $15 for adults while youngsters 12 and under are admitted FREE.

With the point battle finished all attention will turn to the 44th Annual Freedom 76 Classic set for Saturday, September 13th at 7 p.m. The event paying $25,000 to win, the richest race of its type, will attract many of the top dirt track modified racers in the sport with Billy Pauch Sr. and Jr. already signed to compete along with Ryan Godown, Stewart Friesen (a winner at Grandview earlier in the season) and a host of others plus the stars of Grandview. New this year is a night before the Freedom 76 doubleheader that will feature the American Racing Drivers Club Wingless Midgets and the Race of Champions Sportsman. Being a first time event the Friday racing is bound to attract a lot of attention. And Modified racers planning to compete in the Freedom 76 are invited to participate in practice sessions during the evening of racing. Adult admission is $12 while youngsters 6 thru 12 pay just $5.
