Mother Nature Ends Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend At Georgetown Speedway Story By: Brett Deyo/SSTS GEORGETOWN, DE – Despite the best efforts of track crew and management, the Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend at Georgetown Speedway fell to the weather. On Saturday, forecasters called for clearing throughout the afternoon and evening. A heavy mist stayed over the speedway and didn’t allow for racing. As a result, the entire weekend’s program was slated to run on Sunday with hot laps scheduled at 10 a.m. Track crews worked the Georgetown clay until midnight to prepare for the Sunday doubleheader.
