WAYCROSS, GA (July 30, 2015) – One of the most highly anticipated events in dirt late model racing is less than one week away. The 33rd Annual Sunoco North/South 100 – Presented by Lucas Oil will take placeAugust 6th-8th at Florence Speedway in Union, KY.

A revised format in 2014 produced some of the most intense racing action in the history of this crown jewel event. Drivers battled fiercely in two rounds of heat races on Friday night, earning passing points to determine Saturday night’s B-Main and Feature starting grids. Eddie Carrier Jr. claimed his first-career Sunoco North/South 100 victory a year ago, following a thrilling side-by-side dual with Jimmy Owens in the closing laps of the 100-lap finale. The popular format will return in 2015 as a strong contingent of the nation’s top dirt late model talents and regional standouts chase the $50,000 top prize.

This mega event will get underway on Thursday night, August 6th, with an open practice session beginning at 6:00PM. Friday night’s action will include: Hot Laps, double Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Heat Races, along with Heat Races and B-Mains for the Modified division. The annual fan/racer appreciation party will follow Friday night’s on-track activities.

The 2015 National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame induction ceremonies will kick off the festivities on Saturday, August 8th, followed by LOLMDS B-Mains. Afterwards, two six-lap pole dashes will determine the top-16 starting positions in the Sunoco North/South 100. The Modifieds will compete in their $2,000-to-win feature event before the 100-lap, $50,000-to-win Sunoco North/South 100 main event takes center stage. The 30-lap, $2,500-to-win Non-Qualifiers race will cap off the weekend.
