2015 Season Is Underway For Dan Green and the Hot Rod Processing #46!
Bechtelsville, PA – The 53rd year of Stock Car Racing started at the Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville, PA on April 4th and it was a bumpy ride for Dan Green in the #46 NASCAR BRC Dirt Late Model. First time out with the 2015 LAZER X Chassis was in warm-ups and the car was fast right out of the box!
Dan started 2nd in the first heat race of the night and after a couple tries at getting started he was able to move into the second spot at the drop of the green flag. For 8 Laps Dan battled Kory Fleming in the #704 but was unable to make the move to take the lead so he settled for second at the finish. Most of the BRC Late Models, including Dan, were flying Blue and White ribbons for Child Abuse Awareness. We would like to thank Wanda Brown of T & W Racing for putting that together.
Feature time came and Dan started third behind Fleming and Wayne Pfeil #72. When the green finally stayed out it was Pfeil grabbing the lead with Fleming and Dan following. On Lap 17 the #16 of Cory Merkel made contact with Dan going into the third turn and slowed them both down and as they got going the two made contact again coming out of the fourth turn with Merkel spinning and Dan hitting the outside wall with the front bumper. Dan was able to drive back to the pit area but was finished for the night so the team of Todd Lapp, Jim Alexander, Scott Green, Debbie Dutter, Cathy Green, Liz Kulp, Bob Higginbotham and Brett Higginbotham repaired the car to be put in the trailer for the ride home. The official finishing spot for Dan was 9th, not the perfect way to start the 2015 season but its only the first race of the summer and the team is optimistic for a very good season.
