SK Light Feature Winner to Take Home $550 This Friday at Stafford Speedway

(Stafford Springs, CT)—Thanks to its Xtra D program, Xtra Mart Convenience Stores will contribute $3,750 in bonus money to Stafford Speedway drivers during the 2015 season. This Friday night, July 3rd, will be the SK Light Modified division’s turn to take home their piece of the Xtra Mart pie. The SK Light top-5 finishers will each receive a $100 bonus from Xtra Mart meaning the feature winner will take home $550 in purse and contingency bonuses while the 2nd through 5th place finishers will go home with $240 or more.
East Hartford native Joey Ferrigno currently leads the SK Light points standings by 26 points, the largest margin that a point leader has enjoyed this season. Ferrigno leads the standings on the strength of three wins, which is also the most wins of any driver thus far in the division. Ferrigno is looking forward to the opportunity to race for win #4 in 2015 and the $100 bonus from Xtra Mart Convenience Stores that goes along with a top-5 finish in this Friday night’s 25-lap feature.
“That’s awesome, every little bit helps us out,” said Ferrigno. “With what we’ve had to spend on the car this year is nowhere near sponsor money and winnings. We appreciate every extra bit of extra money we can get and thanks to Xtra Mart for giving us the opportunity to race for some extra money. I’m going out to win races because I like trophies. If the points work out in my favor at the end of the year, it’s an added bonus.

Tickets for this Friday, July 3rd Independence Day Celebration with 6 divisions of racing and fireworks are on sale now. Tickets are priced at $17.50 for adult general admission tickets, $5.00 for children ages 6-14, and children ages 5 and under are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Reserved seating is priced at $20.00 for all ages. As always, Stafford Motor Speedway offers free parking with overnight parking available. All ticket prices include 10% CT Admission Tax.
