Side-Winner-2-18-16-620x350TAMPA, FL- February 19,2016- Jason Sides, who took the night off from practice at East Bay Raceway Park, to go fishing at 5:30 A.M. Thursday morning, capped off his evening with a $2,000 win over the best of a field of 43 cars that were here from coast to coast. They came from Vermont to California, Snohomish, Washington to Winnipeg, Canada for the $l0,000 prize to be awarded at the end of the three-day affair to crown the King of 360’s.

Shawn McMurray and Aaron Reutzel led the 20-car field to the green flag but it was the high-flying Reutzel (last year’s runner-up) who showed the way around the cushion for the first thirteen laps before the field was slowed by a four car pile-up by Lou Kennedy, Shawn Murray, Klint Angelettep and spoiling a good run for fourth starting Caleb Helms. By lap 15, second place Mark Smith dropped from contention after suffering front-end damage coming out of four when he touched wheels with Reutzel ending the night for last year’s winner of the big event.

Meanwhile, Sides was up to fourth by lap 15 and was second by lap l7 and leading by lap 18 with Danny Martin, Jr. on his tail. The race went non-stop from that point on and Sides just kept building momentum from that point on, lapping two cars in the process and building a margin of victory of 3.238 seconds at the finish.

Martin was a distant second followed by Chad Kenemah, Tim Shaffer and Seth Bergman, Terry McCarl, Travis Rilat, Lou Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy and Phil Gressman in the top ten.
The top six for the feature were determined by luck of the draw and the complete results follow.
Thanks, Jean Lynch for East Bay Raceway Park
