150126-SEL-1SELINSGROVE, PA- April 13, 2016-  Selinsgrove Speedway welcomes the Newville Family of Companies as the title sponsor of the weekly 360 sprint car racing programs at the historic Snyder County oval in 2016. The sponsorship includes several incentive programs that are also designed to support 358 sprint car teams.

Owned and operated by veteran open wheel racer Jim Shuster, the Newville Family of Companies includes Newville Electric Services, Newville Construction Drilling & Blasting Specialists, Newville Mat Company, and Eleven Oaks Farms.

“We’re very grateful to Jim Shuster and his family for their generosity in putting together this major sponsorship of the sprint car racing programs at Selinsgrove Speedway,” said speedway General Manager Steve Inch. “Jim and his son Mallie have been avid supporters of the 360 sprint car program, and this sponsorship confirms their commitment to helping us make the division a success at Selinsgrove.”

In addition to co-sponsoring the $10,000 point fund for the 360 sprint cars with Hoosier Tire Mid-Atlantic, several incentive programs will also be in place this season courtesy of the Newville Family of Companies.

For the first time, the speedway will offer the Sprint Car Heat Race Victory Bonus for the driver who wins the most heat wins ($500), second most qualifiers ($250), and third most heat races ($100) at the conclusion of the season.

For 358 sprint car teams who compete with the 360 sprints at Selinsgrove, there is a competition bonus program and a separate $2,000 point fund for 358 sprint drivers who support the track this season.

The 358 competition bonus program will be in effect for non-sanctioned 358-360 sprint car races at the track this year, including May 7, May 14, June 25, July 9, July 16, July 23, Aug. 6, Aug. 20, and Aug. 27. The first 358 sprint car driver to cross the finish line will earn a $200 bonus in the main events on the aforementioned dates, with $125 and $100 bonuses being paid to 358 drivers who cross the finish line second and third, respectively.

A $1,000 bonus is being posted to the 358 sprint car point champion, with $500, $300, and $200 being paid to the top four 358 sprint car point finishers who compete in at least half of the designated race dates.

“We put some incentives in place to encourage 358 sprint car drivers to race Selinsgrove,” said Jim Shuster. “For 13 years the 358’s were the open wheel division before the track transitioned to the 360 sprints in 2014. Hopefully the bonus money helps out some of those teams that haven’t yet made the switch from 358’s to 360’s.”
