SECOND PLACE FINISH HELPS NARDELLI INCREASE HIS POINT LEAD AT BRIDGEPORT SPEEDWAY
Sicklerville, NJ (July 21, 2015) – On Friday, July 17, a second place finish helped Lee Nardelli increase his point lead in the wingless 600cc Micro-Sprint class at Bridgeport Speedway.
Once again, the Bridgeton, NJ driver was fast in qualifying as evidenced by his heat win after starting the race in eighth place. Coming from the tenth starting position in the 20-lap feature, Nardelli had motored into third place with ten circuits completed. By lap 12, he advanced into the runner-up position. He would remain in second place and follow the winner Jermain Godshall across the finish line. The strong finish extended his point lead in the standings over Rob Vivona. After the race, Nardelli revealed a problem that occurred during the race that may have stopped him from winning his sixth feature of the year. “I should have probably won, but unfortunately I accidentally pulled all of my tear offs at once about half way through the race and couldn’t see a darn thing,” said the point leader. His next event will be at Bridgeport Speedway on Friday, July 24.
