OSWEGO, NY- Oswego NY’s GJP Italian Eatery is under new ownership as of August of 2015 and new owners Larry Miller, Nicky Loomis, and Ryan Gunther have partnered with Proud Motorsports and driver Camden Proud once again for the 2016 season at Oswego Speedway.
The GJP Team and Miller, a business and individual that have supported Proud and team since his first race at Oswego in May of the 2014 season, have made vast improvements to the restaurant located in Oswego’s JC Penny plaza just east of the speedway since taking it over last summer. The inside of the business has been remodeled, featuring a new and improved dining room with more seating, and most importantly, a new and improved menu with an array of exciting items added.
“This is something I’ve always wanted to do, to have my own deal”, said co-owner Larry Miller. “I’d like to thank the community for their tremendous support in making our business a success in the first half of the year as new owners. It has been awesome to partner with Cam and team over the past couple of seasons and we are looking forward to another season participating in this exciting partnership as well as being the official fuel of both the Proud Motorsports team and the driver”.
GJP Oswego has provided Camden Proud and team with raceday meals for every race the past two seasons and Camden said that his night at the races isn’t complete without GJP. “Really, it’s become part of the raceday experience for everyone”, Proud said. “We get up on Saturday mornings and just look forward to it! The crew counts on it, my family counts on it, and everybody loves it. I unload the car, take the pizza and wings and hide with them because I want to eat it all myself. It is THAT good! The crew ends up fighting over it every week”, he said.
“It’s been great to get to know Larry over the past couple seasons and to have him support us from the start under the GJP brand has been fantastic and a tremendous help to myself and my team. We were going around doing sponsorship proposals prior to the start of my rookie year and GJP was the business I chose to approach for a food or pizza sponsor as they are truly the best. The price, the quality of the food, and the great employees they have really can not be matched anywhere around here. I walked in and met Larry in the winter of 2014 and we’ve been partnered ever since. It’s awesome to have them back for another year and we can’t thank them enough for their continued support…”, Camden explained.
