The ‘Kid’s Kid’, Billy Pauch Jr., has been having a stout season with six wins and 31 top ten finishes out of 40 races as he heads into the busy month of July.

Wednesday night saw Jr. at Action Track USA for the annual Ronnie Tobias Memorial. The SpeedSTR’s ran twin 20’s and the 600 Micro Sprint’s ran twin 17’s. The features were lined up by times so there were no heat races for either division.

Jr. kicked off the night with quick time in the SpeedSTR, lining him up in 11th for the first twin 20.

“We were up to fifth then all of the sudden the motor got slower,” Jr. said. “On the final lap the motor pulled down, we crossed the line in seventh. Unfortunately we were unable to fix it for the second feature so we borrowed a car off of Phil Meisner and were able to salvage some points. Special thanks to Phil for letting me borrow his car.”

Jr. went off to finish 15th in the second SpeedSTR feature.

Jr. started on the outside of the fifth row for the first twin 17 Micro Sprint feature and drove his way to a sixth place finish.

“We were able to start 4th in the second feature and brought it home in second,” Jr. said. “The feature went non-stop. We weren’t able to catch the leader but we ran well.”

Due to New Egypt Speedway being off, Jr. made the trip to Grandview Speedway in the Breitenstein Motorsports No.14 on Saturday.

“We’ve had some issues with the car that we were able to solve,” noted Jr.

Jr. started 11th in the heat race and was up to seventh when he got a flat tire. He was able to pit and make it back out to finish fifth, putting him in the feature.

Jr. was set to start on the outside of the seventh row but was cut short when the skies opened up forcing the track to cancel the remainder of the night.

The feature has been scheduled to be made up on Saturday. Due to conflicting schedules at New Egypt Jr. won’t be able to attend the makeup feature.

Saturday evening Pauch Sr. jumped behind the wheel of the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz No. 51 Big Block Modified at Bridgeport Speedway.

After running fifth in his heat race, Sr. came in and made some adjustments for the feature.

Sr. started on the inside of fifth row for the main event.

“We drove up to fifth,” Sr. said. “I thought we were pretty good. Evidently I missed the setup and overheated the right rear tire. We backed up to ninth.”

Sr. noted that he jumped behind the wheel of the No.51 for Jr. who drives the car at several special shows. “The car has potential,” he said. “I talked to Billy and told him we just need to sort out the handling part of it.”

Tuesday night Jr. went to New Egypt Speedway for the Big Block vs. Small Block Garden State Gunfight.

Jr. qualified fourth from his seventh-place starting spot in his heat race, which placed him on the outside of the seventh row for the 60-lap main event.

Jr. paced himself throughout the early laps of the feature and was able to maneuver his way through the field and capture the lead by lap 32.

“We had the car to beat and pulled away,” Jr. said. “Unfortunately we had a charging system go bad with a few laps to go which cost us the race and we ended up second.”

Up Next for Pauch Racing – Sr. will be at Bridgeport Speedway for a special show on Monday. Jr. will be at Big Diamond on Friday, New Egypt Saturday, Bridgeport Monday and Grandview Tuesday.
