Mandee Pauch Relations – June 18, 2018 – ‘The Kid’s Kid’ had a busy week full of racing where he raced five out of six days this past week at four different tracks in three different states and was able to post two wins and seven top ten finishes.
Billy Pauch Jr.’s week didn’t start off too well Tuesday evening at Albany-Saratoga Speedway for ‘The Tribute’ race.
“We went into the corner in warm ups and another car spun out in front of us,” he said. “We clipped him and went upside down. From there on out the rest of the night went downhill.”
Jr’s crew was able to get him back out on the track just in time for the heat race but with luck of the draw, Billy unfortunately started last and was only able to pass one car. They continued to the consi but were never able to recover from the heat race flip and were unable to qualify.
Wednesday saw Pauch Jr. back at Action Track USA doing double duty in the speedstr and micro sprint.
Pauch Jr. ran second in the speedstr heat race from his fourth-place starting spot, which lined him up in tenth for the 30-lap main event.
“We were able to make our way up to the lead,” he said. “Unfortunately, we had a couple miss cues that lead to us losing the lead and getting second.”
In the 600 micro sprint, Pauch Jr. drove forward to place fourth in the heat race from ninth.
Pauch Jr. rolled off on the inside of the ninth row for the main event.
“Were in a first lap wreck,” Pauch Jr. added. “We came from dead last to finish sixth.”
Pauch Jr.’s third straight day of racing had him at Grandview Speedway for a Thunder on The Hill event in the Danny’s Pizza Pizzazz No.51 modified.
“We were battling for the top three redraw and ended up fourth in our heat race.”
Pauch Jr.’s fourth-place heat race finish had him starting 15th for the main event where he was able to maneuver his way through the field to an eighth-place finish.
Saturday night saw Pauch Jr. back at New Egypt Speedway in the Holsten Motorsports No.96 modified.
Pauch Jr. carved his way through the heat race to finish second from sixth, placing him on the outside of the fifth row for the 30-lap main event.
“We got the lead on lap nine and were able to hold off David Van Horn who has a fast rolling car this year. We were able to get back into victory lane for the first time since April at New Egypt.”
Pauch Jr.’s win was the topping on the cake as he celebrated his birthday on Saturday with a victory.
The final race of the week was on Sunday at Action Track USA where Pauch Jr. had triple duty at the Kutztown Fairgrounds.
Pauch Jr.’s day opened with the 600 micro sprint feature where he lined up on the inside of the sixth row and finished in a close second.
Pauch Jr. then went out and timed second fastest overall which locked him into the thirty lap SpeedSTR main event where he rolled off on the outside of the sixth row.
“We were able to grab the lead on lap 16,” Pauch Jr. noted. “We held off some challenges from a few guys behind us. It wasn’t our best handling car, but we were able to capitalize.”
Pauch Jr. finished second from sixth in the 600 micro sprint heat race which place him in 13th for the main event.
“We were able to make our way up to fourth on a tricky rubber track.”
Next up for Billy Pauch Jr. will be Delaware International Speedway on Tuesday and Big Diamond Speedway on Friday. Billy Pauch Sr. will be back at Bridgeport Speedway on Saturday.
