Nienhiser Lands Loyet Midget Ride For Chili Bowl
Story By: Loyet Racing
CHAPIN, Ill. – Taking a phone call from Joe Loyet at the beginning of December proved to be beneficial Paul Nienhiser, who will drive one of the potent Loyet Motorsports midgets during the Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Midget Nationals.
“When Joe Loyet called me at the beginning of December and asked if I would drive one of his midgets at the Chili Bowl, it was an easy decision to say yes,” Nienhiser said. “I have two previous Chili Bowl appearances, and I am very much looking forward to getting back after being away for a couple of years.”
Nienhiser, who is a regular aboard the Paul Nienhiser Racing No. 9 winged sprint car, is set to make his third attempt at the Chili Bowl Midget Nationals. His first two appearances came in 2014 and 2015, so after a few years away he is set to climb aboard one of midget racing’s most noticeable entries.
With limited seat time in a midget, the plan for Nienhiser and Loyet Motorsports is to test at Belle-Claire Speedway to shake down a new No. o5 machine, and also get the Illinois pilot acclimated the a midget before making the trip to Tulsa, Okla., where he will hit the track on Jan. 11 for his qualifying night aboard the BP Fab No. o5.
“I am really looking forward to this opportunity to run with the Loyet’s,” Nienhiser added. “We have a great group of drivers in our stable with Brad Loyet, Gary Taylor, Zane Hendricks, and myself, and hopefully we can all work well together and have a great showing at this year’s event.”
