New Egypt, NJ – In a year plagued by rainouts, New Egypt Speedway has been forced to cancel its 2018 Modified Points Finale. It will not be rescheduled and David VanHorn is the 2018 New Egypt Speedway Modified champion worth $10,000.

“This championship is just as much for my team as it is me, they worked their tails off weekly for this”, said VanHorn.

It is his first career New Egypt Speedway track championship and he did so without winning a weekly points event, his only win on the season came during the Garden State Gunfight on Wednesday night June 27th.

Attention now turns to this Saturday night when the United States Air Force presents Championship Night this Saturday night September 15th. The Larry’s Hot Rods & Harley’s Northeast Wingless Sprint Cars, Hammer Sportsman, Crate Modifieds, Street Stocks and the 4-Cylinders will all be in action as they crown their 2018 track champions.

Admissions to the grandstand is $20 for adults, $18 for seniors 65 and older, $10 for teens 12-15, $10 for military personnel and their spouses with ID, and Kids 11 & under are free. Pit admission is $30 with a New Egypt Speedway license and $40 with no license. Spectator gates will open at 4PM with racing beginning at 6PM!

Then on Saturday night September 22nd will be the 2nd Annual Legends of the Fall 75 at New Egypt Speedway. The 75-Lap Modified race will pay $7,500 to the winner and $500 to start and will feature Short Track Super Series South Region rules with Sail Panels on all the Modifieds. The Crate vs. Sportsman will also be on the card in a 35-Lap feature paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start. Racing will begin at 7PM on September 22nd.

New Egypt Speedway is located on Route 539 just minutes from Six Flags Great Adventure and the New Jersey Turnpike. A racy 7/16-mile D-shaped dirt oval, New Egypt Speedway serves Garden State race fans with some of the best competition in the country. New Egypt’s state-of-the-art facilities feature daylight-quality lighting and excellent sightlines from any seat in the house. The grandstands are fully wheelchair accessible with wide, clear, and well-groomed walkways. Concession facilities serve up everything from Jersey Burgers to ice cream treats at family-friendly prices.
