(WEST HAZLETON, Pa. 2-2-15) With less than a week to go, all preparations are heading into the final stages for the February 9-15, 2nd Annual NEPA Race Car Show presented by B. Swartz Transport inside the Laurel Mall in West Hazleton.

Event organizers have assembled a solid group of northeastern Pennsylvania racers that will be part of this year’s show. Mall-goers can take in everything from asphalt to dirt to road racing to drag cars which will comprise the wide variety of vehicles on display.

Local Hazleton area news personalities Jeannine Lesante-Mazurkiwecz and Ken Kara of SSPTV-13 have been tapped to do the judging for the SSPTV-13 Best Appearing Car Award.
Also throughout the week Kara, who is the SSPTV-13 news anchor, will be doing driver interviews that will be aired on the nightly broadcast.

One of the highlights of the show takes place on Friday, February 13, at 7:00 pm, where everyone is invited to a “Racers Night Out” which will be held at Lobitz Catering Hall in Hazle Township. Lobitz Catering Hall is just a short drive from the Laurel Mall and located directly behind Fairway Chevrolet off PA Route 309.

Noted videographer Mike O’Brien of MoTorsport Video Production will be providing an array of racing videos to be shown throughout the night. Also Bob Hatcher, who maintains the hugely popular Evergreen/Mahoning/Dorney Facebook page with loads of racing pictures of those tracks and many others across Pennsylvania, will be running a pictorial slide show of great memories. Driver interviews, both past and present, will also take place.

There is a $10 fee payable at the door and includes plenty of great food.

Plans call for cars to enter on Sunday, February 8 after the mall closes at 5:00 p.m. The first official day of the show will be Monday and continue through Sunday, February 15. Cars will be removed at the end of that day which is 5:00 p.m.

There is still a few spots available. Anyone interested in placing their race vehicle in the show are asked to contact event organizer Dino Oberto at 570-401-8168 or email at dlmo@ptd.net.
The Laurel Mall is located on PA Route 93 just off I-81 in West Hazleton.
