PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS MOTORSPORTS 2016 RACE CAR AND TRADE SHOW DOES BRISK BUSINESS ON OPENING DAY, SHOW GOES ON SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

OAKS, PA … The absolute best of what drivers, car owners and teams have to offer was on display on Friday, Jan. 22 as the PPB Motorsports Race Car & Trade Show opened at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, Pa. for the first day of its three day run.
Opening Day highlights included a well-attended and received autograph signing session at the unveiling of the ‘Tribute To The Moody Mile’, a featured exhibit honoring the recently closed Syracuse, N.Y, Fairgrounds speedway. Four-time Super DIRT Week winner Gary Balough and Buzzie Reutimann, winner of the first two Super DIRT Week Modified headliners, were joined by Super DIRT Week founder Glenn Donnelly and others, who signed a commemorative poster.
Dr. Greg George presented part one of a two day lecture and slide show covering Syracuse history. The drivers and Dr. George will continue their signings and presentation Saturday at the Show.
Exhibitors did brisk business at the Show opener. Among them was first timer Max Papis, of MPI, a steering wheel manufacturer whose products are widely regarded as the standard in safety and comfort.
“Our products are of high quality and used by almost all of the NASCAR Sprint Cup teams,” said Papis, a former Formula 1, IndyCar and NASCAR driver. “We want to bring our product to the short track asphalt and dirt markets and this is the perfect place to do it.”
Papis, who shared a booth with Randy LaJoie’s The Joie Of Seating, a long time Motorsports Show exhibitor, did brisk business.
LaJoie and Papis were among the most significant ‘Hard Core Parts’ section in many years at Motorsports. Every major dirt track chassis builder, Troyer, Bicknell, Teo and Hig Fab, a first time exhibitor, were on hand with huge displays.
“This is an important show for us,” said Troyer Race Cars’ Billy Colton. “We have the opportunity to meet our dirt and asphalt customers at the same time.”
The Troyer Race Cars display featured two all new race teams, the Buzz Chew Dirt Modified and its driver Mike Mahaney and the Rob Ormsbee Asphalt Modified to be driven by Jimmy Blewett at Wall Stadium in 2016.
The unusually good Friday crowd was due at least in part to the threat of a winter storm Saturday. Although the region is experiencing weather issues prior to the Show’s Saturday 11:00 AM opening, Len Sammons Motorsports Productions’ Len Sammons, event promoter, said Saturday’s event schedule, including the popular Ms. Motorsports Show, will take place as planned.
“The Show will be open all day so we encourage attendees to take their time getting here. The Expo Center crew will be working throughout the day, as needed, keeping the parking lots in good shape,” Sammons said.
Weather elsewhere was the factor that has forced Kyle Larson to cancel his scheduled autograph signing appearance Saturday afternoon. His hero cards arrived earlier in the week, however, and Larson said he will autograph cards for fans who acquire and mail them to Ganassi Racing. Further details will be available at the Show Saturday afternoon.
Over 200 gleaming race cars, displayed among hundreds of booths in the 250,000 square foot Expo Center await attendees Saturday until 9:00 PM and on Sunday, when the Show concludes its run at 4:00 PM.
