NEW EGYPT, NJ – New Egypt Speedway will be a focal point for dirt Modified racing during the final weekend of October.

Speedway management, in conjunction with Brett Deyo of BD Motorsports Media LLC, have announced plans to co-promote the first annual ‘Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend’ at the pristine 7/16ths-mile D-shaped facility Friday-Saturday October 30-31.  The event takes a weekend left open on the PA-NJ-DE Modified calendar since the demise of the ‘Octoberfest’ finale at Md.’s Hagerstown Speedway.

A plethora of racing is planned for the two-day event.

On Saturday (Oct. 31), the big-block/small-block Modifieds will battle for 40 laps, offering a payday of $5,000-plus. The event will pay $5,000 minimum to the winner, $1,000 for 10th-place and $400 to take the green flag.

The popular Speedway Entertainment SpeedSTRs hit the track racing for a $3,000 top prize. Expect a number of top Modified competitors to pull double-duty, racing both the SpeedSTR and big-block/small-block divisions during the evening.

Other Saturday attractions include Open vs. Crate 602 Sportsman, doing battle for a $1,200 winner’s share and $120 to take the green plus Crate 602 bonuses. Doug Borger’s touring XCel 600 Modifieds will race for a $1,000 payday, as well.

Kids trick or treat activities will take place on Saturday for Halloween.

On Friday night (Oct. 30), Crate 602 Sportsman will be the featured attraction offering $1,000 to the winner. Outlaw Stocks and NEWS Crate 602 wingless Sprints will be in competition on Friday. Additionally, timed practice sessions are planned for the Modified and SpeedSTR divisions with guaranteed starting positions up for grabs for Saturday’s main events.

Camping will be permitted free of charge on the speedway grounds. A post-race party is planned for Friday night.

Pricing information and other details will be announced as the event grows near.
