(LEHIGHTON, Pa. 9-22-15) Saturday evening, September 26, will be the deciding race in which drivers in all six classes at Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway make the final cut as to who goes into the October 3 season point finale as championship contenders.

It will be a regular show featuring Modifieds, Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks plus the night will conclude with a Small Car Enduro.

The Modified class features one of the closes title battles in recent years as just 30 points is all the separates the top five. Earl Paules sits atop the standings by a scant four markers over Austin Kochenash. Don Wagner is third 18 out of first and tied for fifth are Eric Beers and Kris Graver at 30 behind.

The Late Model crown has come down to a two man fight between Paul Koehler Jr., and Mike Sweeney. They have dominated the win column at seven victories each and will now take that their title bout into the final two shows.

While as many as 12 drivers are mathematically eligible to claim the Street Stock championship, the real fight comes between point leader Zach Graver and Randy Schlenker who are divided by seven points.

In the Dirt Mods Ricky Yetter can become the first driver to clinch by virtual of at least a 10th place feature finish.

The Pro 4 division is being led Cody Kohler who maintains a decent cushion over Bobby Kibler Jr., and Nick Baer but must still be on the lookout for the aforementioned who will be tough over the next two weeks.

Lastly the Hobby Stocks are engaged in the closest point clash since the class began. Cody Geist has the edge but only at 25 over his brother, Shayne Geist and 27 on Rich Mutarelli. Also within reach are rookies Kyle Krempasky and Lyndsay Buss.

Race time is 6:00 pm, gates open at 4:00. Adult general admission is $12 Adult general admission is $12. $2.00 off for students, seniors 65 + and active military. Must have ID. Children 10 and under are free. Pit gates open at noon. Early paid practice runs from 12:30 to 3:00. Regular practice gets underway from 4:30 – 5:30.

The final day of points for all classes is on Saturday, October 3, which is highlighted by the Bob “Heavy” Scherer Memorial 100 for Modifieds that pays $3500 to win and is also the fifth race of the Central States Modified Gamblers Series. Rain date for this event is Sunday, October 4.

Octoberfast 2015 will be held on Saturday, October 17 headlined by the $6000-to-win 150 lap main for the Modifieds. The final program of the season will be October 24.

The 2015 Awards Banquet will be on Saturday, November 21 at the Northampton Community Center in Northampton. Tickets are $60 per person.
