360 SPRINT CARS (52 entries)
Brad Loyet and Bryan Howland earned guaranteed starting positions in the September 19 Canadian Sprint Car Nationals A-Feature with victories in the Night Before the Nationals Twin 15’s on Friday night. Each of them started at the front of the field and led from flag to flag, but had to work hard on a very fast track surface.
Loyet set a new 15 lap 360 Sprint Car track record in the first A-Feature at 3:33.107, while Sam Hafertepe, Jr. moved up and wrestled the runner-up spot away from Dylan Westbrook, who settled for 3rd. Scott Kreutter finished 4th, and 8th starter Mark Smith rounded out the top 5.
Howland built a big lead in the second A-Feature, but twice saw his advantage erased by caution flags for Kris Root. The second restart took place on lap 13, and saw 7th starter Jared Horstman throw a banzai move on Howland in turns 1 and 2. Unfazed by the slide job, Howland drove back around Horstman and on to the win. Horstman held off Jordan Thomas, 12th starter Michael Parent, and Justin Barger to take the runner-up spot.
Mitch Brown claimed the win in the annual Night Before the Nationals all-star race, now called the Dave MacLeod Memorial Shootout, and set a new 12 lap 360 Sprint Car track record at 2:47.351.
Max Stambaugh prevailed over Parker Price-Miller in the 2nd annual Kevin Ward, Jr. Young Stars Challenge. The two exchanged slide jobs several times before Stambaugh drove to the win. The only red flag of the night occurred in the Young Stars Challenge when Joe Trenca appeared to suffer a mechanical failure, and collected Alex Hill. Both drivers walked away from the hard collision.

STRICKLAND’S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS (15 entries)
2015 Crate Sprint Car champion Dylan Westbrook started at the front of the field and drove away to take his 5th A-Feature win of the season in dominating fashion. A great race develped for the runner-up spot, with 6th starter Jake Brown eventually prevailing over Mike Thorne for that position.
The race was slowed only once, when Brad Herron slowed down the backstretch on lap 10. Brown took a run at Westbrook on the restart, but Westbrook pulled away to win by 3.378 seconds. Brown settled for 2nd, followed by Thorne, Steve Lyons, and 11th starter Dave Dykstra.

HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS (32 entries)
Mark Bazuin took his 6th Mini Stock A-Feature win with a dominating performance, driving from 4th to the lead on the first lap and never looking back. Bazuin’s time of 7:07.147 is a new Mini Stock division track record for the 20 lap distance, and the win was his 3rd in a row.
Bazuin negotiated traffic well enough to take the win by 4.708 seconds over Robin Elliott, who fought off the advances of Jon Janssens to take the runner-up spot. Janssens settled for 3rd, followed by Shone Evans, and Jason Lungaro.
