Kressley wins the Sporstman Coalcracker 40, Hendricks, Holland, Bossinger are the Champions  Haag, Fitzpatrick and Walsh earn victories Friday Evening at Big Diamond Speedway.

Minersville, PA September 4, 2015

The USS Achey Sportsman  were ready to battle it out for their Coalcracker  40 feature event.  Brad Brightbill and Doug Hendricks would lead the field to the green flag and Brad Brightbill would take over the top spot.  It would not take Brightbill long before he was catching the tail end of the field and began to lap the cars.  Mike Mammana would chase Brightbill as they worked their way through the back of the pack, putting cars a lap down and making sure they did not get caught up with anyone as they passed them.  Patience was the key as the pair weaved in and out while battling hard with each other.  Mammana would see his chance and take the lead on lap 23 and put Brightbill back to the runner up spot.  Mammana would work his way through the back of the pack putting more cars down a lap.  The caution would fly again on lap 36 when JR Fulper would spin and come to rest in turn one.  The field would be reset and it would be brought back to the green by Mammana and Brett Kressley.  The two talented drivers would battle it out, but Kressley would take over the lead on lap 37 and pull away from the field.  Mammana was left to battle with Brad Brightbill.  When the checkers came out it was Kressley winning the race followed by Mike Mammana, Brad Brightbill, Doug Hendricks and Wayne Witmer.  Doug Hendricks would earn the 2015 USS Achey Sportsman Championship. The heats were won by Wayne Witmer, Charles Fayash and Tim Fitzpatrick.  The GME Hard Charger award would go to Brett Kressley for going from 14th place to 1st for a gain of 13 positions.

The Savage 61 Roadrunners were set to have a heated battle both in their feature and in their points battle.  Tim Fitzpatrick and Chris Holland would lead the field to the green after they redrew for their starting positions.  Fitzpatrick would take the lead and begin to put some space between him and and Devin Trexler.  The caution would fly on the 7th lap and Fitzpatrick and Trexler would lead the field back to the green, Fitzpatrick would lead but Chris Holland would move up to the runner up position.  Andy Fayash was doing all he could to get the win, and moved him self up into position to battle Holland for the runner up spot and took it over on lap 15.  Fitzpatrick would take the win followed by Fayash, Holland, Jim Kost and Shon Elk.  The points championship would go to Chris Holland after he was able to finish in 3rd place.  The heats were won by Chris Holland and Devin Trexler.

The Slifko Fabrications Street Stock had a great race Friday night for their final point race.  Rich Bossinger would take home the championship, despite being able to finish the feature event, but that did not stop all the other drivers from battling it out to the end for the final win of the year.  Jasen Geesasman would be the early race leader but he felt the pressure from Noah Jensen for the first 5 laps until Jeff Haag passed Jensen for the runner up spot.  Haag ad Geesaman would restart side by side on lap 8 and on as lap 9 went up in lights, it would be Haag taking over the top spot.   Behind Haag, Geesamen and Jensen would battle it out, which Jensen taking over the runner up spot on lap 16.  Haag and Jensen would battle it out, but on lap 19, Jensen went high and gave up the runner up spot and Haag would be the first across the finish line and take home the win.  Jasen Geesaman would finish in the runner up spot followed by Bobby Kupp, Matt Wilson and Devin Trexler.  Becker would finish in the runner up spot followed by Jeff Haag, Jim Somers and Leroy Long. The heat was won by Rich Bossinger.

The Lias Tire 358 Modified drivers had their annual non winners race, which is open to any driver who has not won a feature event this year, and the prize on the line was a starting spot in the final race of the year, the Jack Rich Inc. Coalcracker Memorial 72 lap feature event, which pays $10,000 to win.  The drivers lined up for their 20 lap feature event and Shawn Fitzpatrick and Paul Moyer led the field to the green.  Fitzpatrick would have the early lead, but after the caution came out, he pulled off the track with mechanical issues.  That left Bobby Gunther Walsh and Paul Moyer on the front row.  The pair would battle it out in a great race, but Bobby would be just a little stronger and come home with the win and the guaranteed starting spot for Sunday’s big show.  Moyer would finish in the runner up spot followed by Mario Dinatale and Shawn Fitzpatrick.  These drivers had a great opportunity to tune their cars to get them ready for Sunday’s Running of the Jack Rich Inc. Coalcracker Memorial 72 lap feature event.

Be sure to come out Tomorrow evening for the final event of the year.  One Modified driver will be taking home $10,000.  The Roadrunners will also taking to the track as well as the Excel 600 Modifieds and there will be a great fireworks show for the fans to enjoy.
