First-Timer: Koty Adams Breaks Through at Ark-La-Tex in Ollie’s Cajun Region

VIVIAN, LA – Koty Adams claimed his first-ever Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Ollie’s Cajun Region victory on Saturday night at Ark-La-Tex Speedway.

The Doyline, La., native raced from his eighth starting position to claim the $1,050 payday – besting the 22-car field.

Adams took home an extra $50 courtesy of Shed Road Auto Parts as the event’s Hard Charger.

Woodworth, La.’s Brother Fowlkes and Robeline, La.’s Caleb Dillard led the field to the opening green flag for the 20-lap main event.

Markee, La.’s Anthony Meek wasted no time, as he raced to the top spot while Dillard and Adams cleared Fowlkes to round out the podium runners.

A lap-10 restart gave Adams a shot on the front row alongside Meek, after passing Dillard in lap traffic during the previous nine lap green flag run.

Adams used the outside groove on the restart, taking the lead away for good from his fellow Bayou State competitor.

Adams cruised for the remaining 10 laps to his breakthrough STSS Ollie’s Cajun Region victory.

The win moves Adams into second place in the Day Motor Sports points chase for the Ollie’s Cajun Region competitors.

Anthony Meek claimed his best career STSS Ollie’s Cajun Region finish, taking home a runner-up finish. Point leader Caleb Dillard had another strong showing, rounding out the podium finishers.

Brother Fowlkes claimed the fourth spot and McLeod, Texas resident Richard Holt rounded out the top five.

The Short Track Super Series Ollie’s Cajun Region Day Motor Sports point series takes one week off, then returns to Ark-La-Tex Speedway for Round No. 7 on Saturday, July 23.
