Five Mile Point Speedway to Host Final Southern Tier Racing Event of 2016; Action Starts Today at 3 PM

KIRKWOOD, NY- November 5, 2016- The 2016 area racing season will officially conclude this weekend with the season finale event at Five Mile Point Speedway. On Saturday Five Mile Point Speedway will host the biggest Crate Sportsman event in the northeast with the running of the “Great Crate Race”. The event will pay $3,000 to win. Racing begins at 3 p.m. and kids 12 years old and younger will be admitted free.
Race teams from multiple northeast states will be converging on the historic 66 year old race facility for the big Saturday afternoon of racing. The “Great Crate Race” will pit the best northeast Crate Sportsman teams head to head for the special 66 lap event. The race will pay $3,000 to the race winner. Five Mile Point Speedway Track Champion Kyle Rohner will be looking to defend his home speedway on Saturday against the invaders coming to town.
Also on the racing card will be the “Fight Night Series” Street Stock finale. That 25 lap race will see the championship of that series decided with the top New York State Street Stock drivers in competition.
The Front Wheel Drive Four Cylinder drivers have their richest pay day of the season this Saturday and teams are expected from as far as five hours away for this season ending event. The 40 lap special feature will pay $1,000 to the winner.
Racing action will also take place in the Factory Stock, Slingshot and Rear Wheel Drive Four Cylinder divisions this Saturday.
Make it a point to get to the Point this Saturday for the final race of 2016. It will be a long winter so don’t miss out on this final opportunity to see the area’s best racing action.
