44th ANNUAL FREEDOM 76 AT GRANDVIEW POSTPONED UNTIL SEPT. 20 DUE TO RAIN AND MORE RAIN

TICKETS ARE ON SALE NOW FOR NOVEMBER 15TH CHAMPIONS BANQUET

BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 13, 2014 . . . Rain and more rain and no relief in sight forced track owner Bruce Rogers to postpone his biggest event of the season, the 44th annual Freedom 76 Modified Classic at Grandview Speedway, until Saturday, September 20. The race pays $25,000 to the winner and offers almost $60,000 in total prize money plus lap money and other perks.

“We had been pretty fortunate and only lost a few shows this season to weather,” said Rogers. “However it is disappointing that rain has forced us to postpone our biggest event of the season. We are fortunate that we have used the same rain date for many years and our fans and racers are well aware of how it works and we look forward to strong support on the 20th.”

Again on September 20 the tech inspection will get underway at 9 a.m. as the pit gates are opened. Spectator gates will open at 3 p.m. for advance ticket holders while the ticket windows will be open at 3:30 p.m. Racing will get the green flag at 7 p.m.

Racing action will include qualifying heat races, the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20, a $1,000 to win Cash Dash and the $25,000 to win Freedom 76 Modified Classic.

Adult admission is $35, while youngsters 6 through 12 pay $10 and kids under 6 are admitted free. Pit admission, no track or organization license required, is priced at $45.

Many of the top names in dirt track Modified stock car racing were on hand for the rained out show but most are scheduled to return and with some schedule changes brought about by the rain there could very well be some additional well-known names showing up to participate.
