WEEDSPORT, N.Y. – June 5, 2015 – Third-generation Big-Block Modified standout Stewart Friesen of Sprakers, N.Y., is glad to be heading to Grandview Speedway Tuesday, June 16, when the Super DIRTcar Series comes to town as a part of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing doubleheader featuring the Big-Block touring series and NASCAR 358-Modifieds.

Friesen, a three-time winner of the Syracuse 200, is off to a strong start in 2015, but he has struggled in the first three races of the Super DIRTcar Series. At Fonda Speedway, where he reigns as track champion, he has come from deep in the field to win four straight and he recently finished fifth in a World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series event at Weedsport (N.Y.) Speedway.

In his last appearance at Grandview, Friesen won the 44th annual Freedom 76.

“The value of the Super DIRTcar Series is on the upswing and I’m glad Grandview is on the schedule,” Friesen said. “I know there will be a lot of top New Jersey and Pennsylvania cars there waiting for us. We’ve timed well for the first three races, had good speed, but no finishes.”

The contingent of Super DIRTcar Modified Series drivers that Friesen will contend with for 60 laps for a purse of over $30,000 and a top prize of $6,000 includes current point leader Matt Sheppard of Waterloo, NY, 2014 series champion Billy Decker of Unadilla, NY, 8-time series champion Brett Hearn of Sussex, NJ, and Danny Johnson of Rochester, NY, who’s coming off a series win at Brockville Ontario Speedway. Hearn has won three Super DIRTcar Series events on Grandview’s one-third mile high-banked clay oval.

The “All Modifieds-All Night” Traffic Jam doubleheader marks the first Grandview appearance by the Super DIRTcar Big-Block Modified Series since 2010 when Craig VonDohren, who is nearing the 100 career-win mark at Grandview, came out on top.

General Admission ticket pricing for Tuesday, June 16 is $25/Adults, Children 6-11/$10. Kids 5-and-under admitted free.

Pit Gates open at 3 p.m. Grandstand Gates open at 5 p.m. Hot Laps begin at 6:45 p.m. Racing starts at 7:30 p.m.
