Freedom 76 Field at Grandview Keeps Getting Bigger
THE FREEDOM 76 FIELD OF ENTRIES JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER; MIKE MAHANEY, JERRY HIGBIE, ANTHONY PERREGO AND RICK LAUBACH SIGN ON FOR $25,000 TO WIN AT GRANDVIEW SPEEDWAY
BECHTELSVILLE, PA September 17, 2014 . . . With just three days to go the field of entries is just getting better and better for the 44th Annual Freedom 76 Modified Stock Car Classic set for Grandview Speedway this Saturday, September 20th, 7 p.m.
Three more New York racing talents Anthony Perrego, Jerry Higbie and Mike Mahaney have added their names to other New York racers planning to compete in the $25,000 to win race. Earlier Andy Bachetti, Matt Sheppard and Stewart Friesen, New York stock car racing standouts, had announced they would be trying for a starting spot in the 76-lap Classic that offers close to $60,000 in prize money along with other perks and lap money.
In addition Hellertown, PA dirt track standout Rick Laubach has let his intentions be known that he will be seeking his first win in the big event.
These drivers will join an already star studded lineup of racing talents that includes 10 time Grandview champion Jeff Strunk, Craig VonDohren, Duane Howard, Doug Manmiller, Meme DeSantis, and a long list of others. More than 70 entries took part in the 2013 Freedom 76.
Again on September 20 the tech inspection will get underway at 9 a.m. as the pit gates are opened. Spectator gates will open at 3 p.m. for advance ticket holders while the ticket windows will be open at 3:30 p.m. Racing will get the green flag at 7 p.m.
Racing action will include qualifying heat races, the Schaeffer Motorsports Minuteman 20, a $1,000 to win Cash Dash and the $25,000 to win Freedom 76 Modified Classic.
Adult admission is $35, while youngsters 6 through 12 pay $10 and kids under 6 are admitted free. Pit admission, no track or organization license required, is priced at $45. There is a Saturday, September 27th rain date in place, just in case.
Many of the top names in dirt track Modified stock car racing were on hand for the rained out show but most are scheduled to return and with some schedule changes brought about by the rain there could very well be some additional well-known names showing up to participate as has already happened with the entries that have been announced.
Fans are reminded that using markers of any type to hold spots in the ticket lines will not be permitted. It will be first come first served basis on ticket sales though those who have purchased advance tickets will be allowed to enter the speedway at 3 p.m. again on the first come, first served basis.
Fans are also reminded that there is camping space available both on and off speedway property along with ample parking, some with a fee, available.

Grandview Speedway, in their 52nd year of family operation, is located on Passmore Road in Bechtelsville, PA just off Route 100, 10 miles north of Pottstown.
