FREE SEMINARS ON A VARIETY OF MOTORSPORTS RELATED SUBJECTS, PRESENTED BY EXPERTS, OFFERED AT PPB MOTORSPORTS 2019 RACECAR & TRADE SHOW

OAKS, PA January 14, 2019 . . . School will be in session come the weekend of January 18-20. Again this year the Pioneer Pole Buildings Motorsports 2019 Racecar & Trade Show will offer show attendees the opportunity to attend a variety of seminars at no cost other than the price of the show admission ticket.

During the three day show taking place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks, PA a number of seminars covering a variety of subjects of interest to those involved in motorsports will take place with experts providing the instructions.

Of special interest are three very new different seminars being conducted by NASCAR Hall of Fame crew chief Ray Evernham, 2019 NASCAR Cup Series rookie of the year Ryan Preece, Greg Hodnett’s late wife Sherry and noted media relations consultant Rolfe Schnur.

There will be something for just about everyone as the schedule below indicates.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

Friday, January 18: (Show Hours 2 to 9 p.m.)

4:30 – 5:30 PM: (Room 1) RACING SHOCKS HELP – Presented by NASCAR Hall of Famer Ray Evernham and Jeff Ryan of JRi Shocks.

NASCAR Hall of Famer crew chief Ray Evernham recently announced his acquisition of JRi Shocks. JRi Shocks founder, Jeff Ryan, who will continue to play a leading role in the organization as a Partner and Vice President of Engineering, joins Evernham to talk shocks and answer all questions to help racers using any brand of shock.

6:00 – 7:00 PM: (Room 1) THE BASICS OF RACING – Set-up, tire and general maintenance on Street/Pure/Factory Stock and Front Wheel-Drive (asphalt and dirt) “U-car” divisions. Presented by Roy Anderson of Anderson Race Cars.

6:30 -7:15 PM: (Room 2) LEGAL ISSUES IN RACING, and with the Racing Business – Presented by attorney Meri Van Blarcom-Gupko of Wiley, Malehorn, Sirota and Raynes legal firm. A practicing lawyer with an auto racing background, she will answer racing-related legal questions that you may have, such as sponsor liability, insurance and what responsibilities you need to be aware of as a racer and/or track operator. Open to racers and promoters/track managers. (Note: Legal questions will be answered at no charge during the presentation).

Saturday, January 19: (Show Hours 11 Am To 9 P.M.)

1:00 – 2:00 PM: (Room 1): BEING BETTER PREPARED – Sherry Hodnett, the wife of the late driving great Greg Hodnett who was killed in a September Sprint Car crash is holding a one hour discussion to share what she has gone through in recent months in hopes of helping others be better prepare. Sherry believes her bad experiences can help others in the sport avoid the issues she has struggled with since Greg’s death.

1:15 – 2:15 PM: (Room 2): TEN KEYS TO PROFESSIONALISM IN RACING…Hosted by media relations consultant Rolfe Schnur, who works with Brett Hearn, Max McLaughlin, Jack Lehner, Drake Troutman and others.

2:30 – 3:30 PM: (Room 2): DIRT LATE MODEL SET-UPS AND CHASSIS TUNING – Jim Bernheisel, and sons Brandon and Bryan, of Bernheisel Race Components/ Lazer Chassis are experts in dirt Late Model chassis building and driving. They will be sharing their knowledge and offering help in this informative seminar.

2:30 – 3:30 PM: (Room 1): WINNING DIRT MODIFIED/SPORTSMAN PREP – Randy Williamson, of Bicknell Race Cars will outline how one of their winning racecars can be properly prepared for competition. Williamson, who also fields a car for his son and works closely with many other top drivers, will offer an insight on the work needed on the car to first finish before it can finish first. He’ll also be available for questions and answers on all subjects regarding dirt Modified and Sportsman racing and set-up help.

3:45 – 4:45 PM: (Room 2): THE BASICS OF RACE TEAM SPONSORSHIP – Presented by race team Media Relations consultant and motorsports journalist John Snyder. The basics you need from writing proposals and who to send them to will be covered from an expert who has had winning success with many drivers and teams for decades.

3:45 – 4:45 PM (Room 1) Q & A WITH RYAN PREECE – If you got questions regarding an asphalt Modified, 2013 NASCAR Whelen Tour champion Ryan Preece is willing to help. Bring your questions to the seminar room on preparing or setting up your chassis, brakes, tires, etc. and he’s willing to give you his advice.

5:00- 6:00 PM: (Room 2): TAKING PHOTOS AT THE TRACK – For the “amateur” or the person looking to enter the business, this seminar provides “the basics” of racing photography. One attendee will get a chance to take photos at the Ms. Motorsports competition, with the professionals! Hosted by award winning racing photographer Bob Yurko of Area Auto Racing News

5:00- 6:00 PM: (Room 1) SAFETY AT THE SPEEDWAY – Presented by Warren Alston, a veteran racing flagger and official; and by profession an Emergency Medical Services Chief and Occupational Health Technician. The first part of the seminar will cover what safety measures are, or should be, in place at local racetracks. Topics will include Safety Terms, Kinematics of Trauma, Scene Survey in an accident, Rapid Assessment (RPM) and Treatment Priorities. It will be followed by an actual demonstration, with a race car, of the “team approach” to remove an injured driver. A “must attend” for racetrack first responders, but also open to fans and track management/officials.

Motorsports 2019 opens on Friday, January 18 at 2 p.m., then at 11 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The show closes at 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 4 p.m. on Sunday. On Sunday, all children 12 and under are FREE with a parent.
