The Wicked Moose in Rochester provided a perfect setting for the 2015 addition of the Annual Drivers Award Banquet. A meal was served while drawing and door prizes were handed out thanks to a great group of sponsors and businesses who gave away a ton of great contingency prizes.

After the meal was served a video highlight reel of the 2015 racing season was shown to the large crowd gathered on this special night. Thanks to Scott Gulbranson who put together this great highlight reel of some on track action and the behind the scenes work. Everyone enjoyed watching this great footage.

The first awards to be handed out were some Specialty awards for the Button Buck Speedway which features weekly racing in the Slingshot by Tobias cars. In the KC CLawn Care Pee-Wee Slingshots Toby Kennedy brought home the most improved honor while Braden Brauer took home the honor in the Junior Division. Colby Mann took home the most improved honor in the senior division. Jim Chisholm showed true sportsmanship over the Slingshot season taking home the Sportsmanship award for the 2015 season, while Colin Williams took home the Parent Sportsmanship award.

After a video highlight of the slingshot racing season the championship trophies were awarded. Kolton Brauer of Eyota MN took home the track title in the KC Lawn Care Pee-Wee division ahead of Toby Kennedy, Koby Wagner, Gavin Oldefendt and Brady Boland.

Joe Chisholm of Osage IA and Braden Brauer of Eyota MN tied for the Championship Trophy in the KC Lawn Care Junior Slinghsots ahead of Gage Motl, Hunter Kennedy and Ayden Howard. Jim Chisholm took home the Senior Slingshot title ahead of Tianna Mithun, Karlie Wagner, Colby Mann and Tucker Williams

Next up were the Specialty Awards for the Deer Creek Speedway with Bernie Adams taking home the most improved driver in the KIK Graphics WISSOTA Street Stocks. Garritt Wytaske took home the honor in the Dirt Doctor Trucking WISSOTA Midwest Modified division. In the Wagner Trucking USRA B-Modifieds Erik Kanz took home the most improved honors, while Neil Eckhart took home the title in the Brauer Roofing WISSOTA Super Stock Division. Rounding out the Most Improved honors was Joe Horgdal in the NAPA Auto Care USRA Modifieds.

Zach Elward took home he dubious honor of the Hard luck of the year award, while Jacob Bleess took home the Rookie of the Year award over a highly competitive group of rookies who raced this season. Darwyn Karau continued to demonstrate what racing is all about taking home the Sportsman of the year award.

Dan Erickson was on hand from the Minnesota Corn Growers to award the 2015 Ethanol Cup and the Ethanol Appreciation awards. This program was funded by Poet Ethanol of Preston, Absolute Energy of Lyle and the Fillmore County Corn Growers. Drivers participating this year were Dustin Scott, Cole Queensland, Mike Blowers, Brian Fetting, Scott Demmer, Troy Voth, Kadden Kath, Casey Trom, Alex Williamson, Kylie Kath, greg Jensen, AJ Zvorak, Noah Grinstead, John VanMinsel, Mike Chisholm, JT Wasmund, Dereck Clement, Zach Elward, Dustin Kruse and Brad Seavers

The Minnesota Corn Growers then announced Dustin Scott the champion of the 2015 Ethanol Cup which was a final 3 race program for all drivers who ran over 50% ethanol in their race cars. Cole Queensland, Mike Blowers, Brian Fetting and Scott Demmer rounded out the top five in this years version of the Ethanol Cup.

After another fine video program for each class that races at the Speedway put together by Scott Gulbranson the top ten in each division were brought onto the stage to receive their point money and trophies for the top five.

Mike Blowers took home the track championship in the KIK Graphics WISSOTA Street Stocks ahead of Kory Adams, Danny Richards, Nick Schwebach and Bernie Adams.

Cole Queensland took home the honor in the Wagner Trucking USRA B-Modifieds ahead of Erik Kanz, Kylie Kath, Brandon Hare and Alex Williamson.

Dustin Scott took home the title in the Dirt Doctor Trucking WISSOTA Midwest Modifieds ahead of Josh Crary, Jason Born, Garritt Wytaske and Casey Trom.

Tommy Richards took home the 2015 Brauer Roofing WISSOTA Super Stock title over Jeff Brauer, Brian Fetting, Kevin Hager and AJ Hoff.

The Napa Auto Care USRA Modified champion for 2015 was Josh Angst ahead of Jacob Bleess, Joe Horgdal, Joel Alberts and Darwyn Karau. Angst also received a tool box from NAPA for his championship.

Deer Creek Speedway and Button Buck Speedway are now readying for the 2016 season. The schedule of events will be listed on the website so along with tickets for all events so get those holiday presents for your loved ones.
