(LEHIGHTON, Pa. 5-6-15) Round 2 of the Central States Modified Gamblers Series (CSMGS) at Lehighton’s Mahoning Valley Speedway is set for this coming Saturday, May 9 featuring a 100-lap main event paying $3000 to win.

On Opening Night back on April 11, Wharton, NJ’s Don Wagner claimed an Ace card as well as $5000 for winning the first race of the special six race high dollar series. Wagner also heads into the night as the current point leader of the division, another bonus he has enjoyed since garnering that early season victory.

The top 13 drivers from the April 11 Round 1 race all earned poker cards. Kevin Rex Jr., brings a King to the table after his strong runner-up to Wagner. Zane Zeiner is showing a Queen, Nevin George a Jack and defending track champion Kris Graver is holding a 10. The other card holders include Todd Baer, Chip Santee, Eric Beers, Austin Kochenash, Eric Kocher, Matt Hirschman, Anthony Sesely and Lou Strohl.

Run under a poker game format, cards are awarded to the top 13 finishers in each designated Gamblers Series feature race which is sponsored by Central States Used Clothing. At the end of the series the top five card holders will share in a $6000 purse with $2000 going to the top hand, $1500 for second, $1000 to third, then $700 and $500 respectively.

Each CSMGS event pays no less than $1800 to win with the final race, Octoberfast 2015 on October 17 paying a track record $6000 to the winner.

The Opening Night CSMGS race drew 29 Modifieds and much of the same is expected for this Saturday.

Pit admission is $30 for members and $40 for non-members. There will be 50 show-up points awarded to all signed in Modified teams.

Early paid practice will take place from 12:30 to 3:00. Fee is $25 per car. Regular warm-ups will then get underway shortly after 4:00. The first heat will hit the track at 6:00 pm.

Modified drivers will pick for heat starting spots and a redraw of the top 12 from the heats will take place to set the starting grid for the feature.

Late Models, Street Stocks, Dirt Mods, Pro 4s and Hobby Stocks are also on the card.

Grandstands open at 4:00. Adult admission is $20, there is a $2 off discount for students, seniors 65+ and active military. Must have ID. Children 10 years old and under are free.
