CHILLICOTHE, OH- March 31, 2016- Caleb Helms is hopeful the kinks are worked out of the system as he enters the first Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions points race of the season.
Helms used last Saturday as a test and tune at Atomic Speedway in an effort to be on point as his team returns to the high-banked track this Saturday for the All Star opener.
“We didn’t have the best night last Saturday, but I’d much rather get that out of the way and have things figured out before we start points racing,” he said. “Our plan is to follow the All Stars this year and that begins this weekend with our first test.”
Helms placed 12th in the All Star championship standings last year despite missing a large number of races.
“We had some other priorities last season that kept us from the normal All Star schedule, but as of now we plan on getting back into our usual routine with the series this year and hopefully climbing back into the top 10 on a regular basis,” he said.
Helms competed last Saturday at Atomic Speedway, where he placed sixth in a heat race, fourth in the B Main and 19th in the main event.
“Some nights are just not your nights and last Saturday was one of those,” he said. “Hopefully we’ll learn from the laps we got at Atomic, have a little luck and put together a complete night there this weekend with the All Stars.”
