$81,440 In Purse Money Up For Grabs At Georgetown Speedway’s Two-Day Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend October 27-28

GEORGETOWN, DE – Racers from across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic will travel to Georgetown Speedway Friday-Saturday, October 27-28 for Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend.
A new record $81,440 in purse money has been posted for the year-end spectacular at the Sussex County half-mile oval.
With two full days of racing, there is truly something for everyone.
The Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By VP will conclude its eight-race Velocita-USA South Region with a 40-lap big-block/small-block Modified event paying $5,000 to win, $1,000 for 10th and $400 to take the green flag. STSS Modifieds compete in Friday qualifying heats. Saturday brings consolations and a 40-lap feature.
At the end of 40 laps, the $10,000 STSS South Region champion will be crowned.
Super Late Models make their fourth 2017 appearance at Georgetown with a 40-lap, $5,000-to-win, $400-to-start event. Super Late Models time trial and run heats on Friday; consolations and the 40-lap main event take place Saturday.
A Friday night 30-lap clash is set for small-block Modifieds, offering a $3,000 top prize and $300 to take the green flag. Teams competing in the small-block event Friday are permitted to enter big-block heat races with the same car.
L&J Sheet Metal Crate 602 Sportsman battle on Friday night with $1,000 going to the winner and $100 to take the green for 20 laps.
RUSH Crate Late Models return to Georgetown for the first time since July on Saturday of the two-day event. Like their Sportsman counterparts, the Crate Late Models race 20 laps with $1,000 reserved for the winner and $100 to start. Their program takes place on Saturday.
The Mid-Atlantic Sprint Series makes its inaugural Georgetown appearance on Saturday with a 20-lap main.
Completing the busy weekend are the Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks, with feature events on both Friday and Saturday; Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars (Friday) and Little Lincolns (Saturday).

Registration is open for the STSS Modifieds, Super Late Models, small-block Modifieds, RUSH Crate Late Models and Crate 602 Sportsman. Forms have been posted on the Georgetown Speedway website.
