Insigner Performance and Sunoco Race Fuels, the leading provider of racing fuel in the Northeast have once again stepped up to the plate in their support of our local dirt modified racing. Insigner Performance has teamed up with Big Diamond Speedway and New Egypt Speedway to announce a $5,000 bonus to any driver who can win both the Big Diamond and New Egypt Speedway track titles in 2018.

The bonus being offered by Insigner Performance and Sunoco Race Fuels will provide a great incentive for a driver to run both Big Diamond Speedway on Fridays and New Egypt Speedway on Saturdays to vie for the $5,000 bonus. If a single driver was able to pull off winning the titles at both tracks, him and his team could take in total winnings in excess of $20,000.

In an era where it is uncommon to see tracks working together for the good of the sport this is a welcome start and hopefully a good sign of things to come in the future.

Big Diamond Speedway promoter Jake Smulley is excited for the 2018 season to get started and is happy to work together with Insigner Performance and Sunoco Race Fuels along with New Egypt Speedway to provide an extra incentive to the drivers to run both tracks.

“I talk to Joey (New Egypt track manager Joey Liquori) pretty often and we get along well.” Mentioned Smulley, “I told him last week that I was going to try to secure a sponsor to pay a bonus if a Modified driver can win both the Big Diamond Speedway and New Egypt Speedway points title and he was all for it. The potential to win up to $20,000 is a great incentive to run both tracks. We are already both under contract with Sunoco Race Fuels and I allow any track stamped American Racer tire to compete at Big Diamond on a weekly basis. It just made sense to try to do something between the two tracks and see how it goes.”

New Egypt Speedway track manager Joey Liquori is equally excited to be able to work together with one of his fellow track operators to give a little bit back to the drivers and teams that make this all possible.

“That’s a lot of money for somebody to race weekly.” In talking to Liquori. “The biggest thing is that the tracks are working together. Everybody wants race tracks to work together and now that some of us are hopefully some of the others will work together too. I think some of the racers will take advantage of it, so we’ll see what happens.”

Both Big Diamond Speedway and New Egypt Speedway have a tremendous schedule planned for 2018 with a multitude of special events that are sure to wet the appetite of both the competitors and the fans alike.

The 2018 season at Big Diamond Speedway is scheduled to get underway on Friday April 6th with a 30 lap $4000 to win show for the Modifieds followed up by the annual “Money in the Mountains” big block/small block challenge the following Friday April 13th with a first-place prize of $6000 to the winner.
