World of Outlaws Weekly Update
BEAVER DAM, Wisc. — June 21, 2015— The wait ends this week, as the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series invades Beaver Dam Raceway in Wisconsin for the Sixth Annual Jim “JB” Boyd Memorial Presented by Karavan Trailers on Saturday, June 27. The series is in the midst of a busy 12-race schedule that will take them to seven different states.
Last week, six-time and defending series champion Donny Schatz picked up three more wins to extend his current win streak to five races and he now has 16 wins on the season. On Wednesday, June 17 in Minnesota he picked up a win over Shane Stewart. Schatz followed that up with a win in his home state of North Dakota over Dusty Zomer and capped off the weekend with a triumph in South Dakota, with Stewart finishing second again.
With his three wins last week, Schatz extended his lead in the championship standings over Stewart as the series continues their current grueling span of races. Kerry Madsen is currently third in points, followed by Brad Sweet and Joey Saldana. The remainder of the top-10 in the standings has Paul McMahan in sixth, Daryn Pittman in seventh, Jason Sides in eight, David Gravel in ninth and Kraig Kinser in 10th.
