Virginia Motor Speedway Postpones Start Of 2020 Season Due To COVID 19 Outbreak

Jamaica, VA – In response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Virginia Motor Speedway will be postponing the start of the 2020 season. This decision comes per recent CDC  guidelines, and the State of Virginia banning events of 100 or more people.

Officials of Virginia Motor Speedway will continue to closely monitor the situation in coordination with federal, state, local, and public health officials, along with information based on guidelines from the CDC to determine when it will be safe to reopen. The health and safety of our race fans and drivers is our top priority.

Bill Sawyer’s Virginia Motor Speedway is a 1/2-mile, dirt oval. The track located on U.S. Route 17, eight miles north of Saluda, VA and 25 miles south of Tappahannock, VA in Jamaica, VA. The speedway is just a short drive from Richmond, Fredericksburg, Southern Maryland, and the Hampton Roads area.
