USAC MIDGETS INVADE GRANDVIEW ON TUESDAY, JULY 30, PIONEER POLE BUILDINGS POST $1,000 IN MODIFIED BONUS MONEY

BECHTELSVILLE, PA JULY 24, 2019 . . . . . . . . . . .NOS Energy Drink USAC Midget stars to include Chris Windom, Kevin Thomas, Zeb Wise and Tanner Carrick are heading to Grandview Speedway Tuesday night, July 30 for the Ken Brenn Midget Masters. The USAC Midgets and 358 NASCAR Modifieds will showcase this double-header racing program that is part of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series. Gates will open at 5 PM with qualifying getting underway at 7:30 PM. The USAC Midget will run time trials and a series of qualifying heat race events leading up to the 30 lap Ken Brenn Midget Masters. The modifieds will compete in qualifying and their 30 lap main event.

Pioneer Pole Buildings has added an additional $1,000 to the modified feature payoff and this is how it will work. All modified drivers that were part of the July 2 Thunder on the Hill event will be eligible for the bonus payoff. The top ten cars in the July 30 feature finish that were at the July 2 event will earn an additional $100. This is a “thank you” to the modified teams that helped run in the track on July 2 after the rain nearly forced the show to be cancelled. “We greatly appreciate the modified owners and drivers who cooperated with packing the track at the last Thunder Show and this a small way to say “thank you”, commented Bob Greene of Pioneer Pole Buildings.

Advance tickets may be ordered by calling 443-513-4456. Please speak your name clearly and leave the number of tickets you needed. Tickets may be paid for and picked up on race night at the WILL CALL window after 3:30 PM. Advance ticket holders may enter the grandstands at 4:30 PM, one-half hour prior to General Admission tickets going on sale at 5 PM. General admission tickets are $28 for adults, $10 for children 6 to 11 and kids 5 and under will be admitted for free. The pit fee is $35 and a license is not required.

Other USAC Midget entries include Christopher Bell, winner of the 410 sprint feature at Grandview on July 2 along with Jerry Coons Jr., Chad Boat and Tyler “Sunshine” Courtney as they chase the $3,500 payoff in the Ken Brenn Midget Masters feature event. Some last minute shuffling of cars may produce some surprise USAC Midget additional star entries.

The one-third mile high banked Grandview Speedway has a rich history in presenting some of the best midget racing in the country and Tuesday night, July 30 will mark a historic return of the midgets to the track on the hill. Modified favorites expected to be in the house include Jeff Strunk, Duane Howard, Craig VonDohren, Rick Laubach, Jared Umbenhauer, Frank Cozze and Brett Kressley as they chase $3,000 to win the 30 lap Modified feature event plus the PPB bonus money. Gates open at 5 PM with race time set for 7:30 PM.

Entry Christopher Bell, is the 2017 NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series titlist and a two time winner of the Turkey Night Grand Prix at California’s Ventura Raceway. The twenty-five year old sensation owns twenty-three USAC National Midget victories. Phoenix, Arizona driver Chad Boat is also heading east for the USAC NOS Energy Drink Pennsylvania Midget Week. Boat has three midget wins in Pennsylvania over the past two years winning at Path Valley, Linda’s Speedway and BAPS Motor Speedway.

Popular USAC driver Jerry Coons, Jr. from Tucson, AZ is a two-time USAC National Midget Champion (2006-2007) and owns nineteen USAC National Midget wins. Coons is one of six drivers that are USAC Triple Crown winners , having won Silver Crown, National Sprint and National Midget titles in his career.

Tyler Courtney of Indianapolis, IN is the current NOS Energy Drink National Midget point leader and won six time in the first sixteen races this season. Nicknamed “Sunshine”, he is still looking for his first USAC Midget victory in Pennsylvania.

The Tuesday night, July 30 Ken Brenn Midget Masters & Modified double-header will also present Low, Down & Dirty as they present their pre-race fun and activities with another popular Meet & Greet taking place from 5 to 6 PM.

Be sure to plan and attend the first return of the USAC National Midgets to Grandview in thirty years.
