Stafford Motor Speedway Preview: Geoff Boisjoile
By: Matthew Wiernasz
Geoff Boisjoile out of Easthampton, MA will make a return to the SK Light division this season at Stafford Motor Speedway. Boisjoile is unsure if he will run the full season at Stafford Motor Speedway. He is hoping to run the full season at Stafford Motor Speedway. It will all depend on how the budget is. He may run the Lite Modified race on Icebreaker weekend at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and see how things go from there. Boisjoile would like to get some wins this season as he has come so close to getting into victory lane.
For Boisjoile to get that win, it would mean the world to him and his family. Boisjoile’s father had passed away a week before the 2013 Spring Sizzler after a battle with cancer. ” Coming from literally nothing trying to reach my father’s dreams. Then having him run 4 races at the end of the of the 2012 season and pass away from a cancer a week away from the Spring Sizzler in 2013. It would be awesome to get a win for everyone in this organization.” Boisjoile Said
Boisjoile finished second 4 times last season and his hoping to build off that momentum heading into the 2015 season. His confidence has given him a boost as his close family and friends are there to watch him race every Friday night. Boisjoile felt his season in 2014 was awesome He had a bunch of finishes in the top 3 and top 5. He felt better then he had thought as he progressed better as a driver and his crew chief Jarrett Skwira would would give him a great car week after week. Boisjoile had wrecked with 4 weeks left to go in the 2014 season.
He announced he was all done for the year after the accident.  Boisjoile gave about another hour to think about it and was not happy because he had not gotten a win.  The team had worked hard to put a new clip on the car. They came to with two second place finishes. He was in contention for the win last year at the Fall Final. ” I couldn’t ask for much more out of the year.”
With those finishes it boosted up Boisjoile’s confidence for this season. They made some changes where he feels he will be up front quite a bit this season and to hopefully get some wins early in the season. Besides trying to run in the 2 Lite Modified races this season at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park. Boisjoile would like to give Monadnock Speedway a try.  ” We might have a spare rear end donated this year so we could gear that differently for the 1/4 mile. Would just need to borrow a 4 barrel. It would be cool to run up there. Looks like a lot of fun.”
Boisjoile has had a very hard time finding sponsorship for his race car. ” It’s easy to go in and ask a business for money but if the business owner doesn’t like racing. There is pretty much no hope for any sponsorship.”
Boisjoile’s goals for the 2015 season is to get a win. A top 5 finish in the points and learn some new things.  The 44th Annual Stafford Motor Speedway NAPA Auto Parts Spring Sizzler will happen on April 24th-26th featuring the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour.
